Way over priced

Govee has really upped their marketing and product line up. I remember "taking a chance" on their adhesive light strips for behind the TV a couple years ago. Those no longer work but impressed with their progress. Seen their stuff at home Depot too.

Would be cool if we could incorporate it into our Dreamview setups. And then provide an option to project around our TVs.

@@secondchance6603 what a weird comment. The galaxy is dim, only 2 discs look good, the stars are cool, the led light is average and you can hear the sounds looping. The discs wear out with light and heat with no way to buy more. The only thing it has going for it is it's a Bluetooth speaker you can play sleep sounds on and have stars.

We bought one and returned it. The 30 dollar no name brand one in our office looked miles better. Govee please get over yourselves. Otherwise you'll easily be superseded by a cheaper, similar or better build brands.

It is not worth the price. And cheaper ones are in fact better and more customizable.

Overpriced. We have a 30 dollar no brand one in our office that looked better and wasn't an obvious cash grab

$179?! Have you lost your damn minds? Several years ago this company's whole shtick was making affordable lighting that was cheaper than the competition, but now they've clearly gone the way of Nanoleaf and Philips Hue and are charging exorbitant prices in an already competitive market. Don't forget your roots, Govee! Stop with the insane price gouging. The people giving this item praise at this ridiculous price point are either massive fanboys where Govee can do no wrong or incredibly delusional.

This and the $350 Govee Hexgon Ultras… I made a very similar comment when those came out. Govee used to be the underdog fighting the corporate evils of Nanoleaf and Philips Hue. But now… as the old Star Wars Obi Wan Quote goes “you became the very thing you swore to destroy.”

I don't get why people don't understand budget brands such as govee can have more expensive premium products to offer other than just cheap ones. There's still a lot of cheap things from govee, but new and feature rich products like this and the hexagon ultras bring new stuff to the market, obviously for a higher price. Just because its expensive doesn't mean govee is "forgetting they're roots", its more like they're trying to bring new and interesting things to the market to compete against other products. Shouldn't get mad just because you dont think its affordable.

@@zenith1145 So if Hyundai came out with a $450,000 Rolls Royce Sedan competitor or Kia came out with a $500,000 Ferrari 458 Competitor, you think they would fly off the showroom floors, no problem? Journalists and Car Blogs would just eat it up and accept it? That somehow a budget brand that’s been around 20 years has established itself as the market premium when Ferrari has been racing in the highest levels of Motorsports since before Hyundai’s CEO was born? Or that Rolls Royce has been an automobile establishment nearly twice as long as Korea has even been a country?
