I'm giggling so hard at "nobody produces 100% BANGERS" but like...it's so true and valid! This whole video is valid. I think I'm lucky because more and more I'm realizing lately how much I love art and how at home I feel when I get to draw and create and conceptualize new ideas and stuff. If it weren't for feeling that way, I don't think I'd get through struggles well enough (both as an artist and just as a person). I too have dealt with depression over the years and somewhat new to that is anxiety and god is it terrifying but also superrr annoying to deal with!!! One of the realest things is admitting that sometimes you don't push through and force yourself to draw, because different times call for different reactions and we're not invincible. No matter what you do in life, you're human first. What you feel and go through isn't something to be neglected, and it's something I often forget because how fast paced life is. So while I do love calm art days while studio vlogs and music+rain playlists are on in the background, I also know being able to sit with myself in the darkest moments and address why I feel the way I do and usually cry my heart out over it is...oddly refreshing?? Because it reminds me that just as I feel these things, I will also feel happiness again eventually just as I did before. All in all I always recommend therapy if people can afford it or feel safe/comfortable with it, it does wonders to have someone else be there for you without the weight of feeling like a burden or too intrusive because they're a friend or family member. ahhhh I rambled so much ahaha but this is a huge topic that means a lot as well, and please don't apologize for being honest or "too serious"! This was really helpful to me and many others I'm sure, so thank you! I'm glad you were able to feel better after that lovely painting session, and here's to better days ^^ (btw your analogies are 100% bangers.)

i haven't drawn or painted in many months, n im definitely gonna blame it on my depression. when u described how exhausting life can be for someone with depression, i really felt that- it can be so hard to even speak, much less take the time to draw. anyway last night i saw a really sick animation style on tiktok and it totally inspired me to fill a whole sketchbook page!! and i loved some of the stuff that came out of it, it was so therapeutic and fun. in the same way, this has inspired me to keep drawing, keep playing music, and continue turning to creative things as a crutch instead of something that makes me frustrated or another thing to lose interest in when im down bad. thank you so much for this. i want to keep going.

it was sooo nice and soothing to watch this video! thank you, pypah 🥺 if I feel anxious or down, I usually do this: - draw landscape with gouache(rarely) - watch queer/cottagecore/goblincore/plant tiktok compilations - rewatch favorite videos - go on reddit and scroll through my favourite subs to laugh and feel happier. - listen to favorite music - make favorite food so yea, something like this

This video was so helpful for me 🥺 I really get into a state of anxiety whenever I feel like I'm drawing the same thing too often and start pressuring myself to get out of my comfort zone. Which on one hand is good because it inspires me to try new things, but also at the same time I have a bad habit of getting frustrated when things aren't perfect on the first try. So this video was really comforting!!

I have always loved art I used to draw and paint a lot as a kid and as a teen Then photographing took over and I kind of forgot art In April 2019 I had to go on sick leave due to chronic pain in my neck and I´m still on sick leave and my symptoms are getting worse and spreading I cannot even hold my camera most days Instead I have found art again and I use it as a therapy cause not only do I have chronic pain.. I also got severely depressed cause my pain made me having to re-think my future studies and career choices Art truly helps.. just like you say.. I do have days when all I can do is to stay in bed.. not just cause of the pain but because of the depression.. but.. on the days I feel somewhat better depression wise I always always draw It may not be good... but I do it cause I love it! I truly appreciate content like this Pypah.. makes me feel less alone in my struggles with my health ❤️

This was such an inspiring video,it's so great that you are prepared to talk to us so openly and candidly about your struggles with mental haelth and how you learn to deal with them and how the solace you find in your art really helps. My art is the back bone of my life it really is, it's the one constant in my life I know I can rely on it gives me a voice,it gets me through darker times. I have times when I feel I can't paint, but I find a way to push through that, I go to my sketchbook and pick up a pencil,a brush,or what ever comes to hand and just start and I can push through it and I find in no time I'm feeling more human, My art reflects how I feel at any one time. I am Bi-polar and I also have panic attacks and also I'm agorophobic and do get anxious about things, but when I sit down to create a iece of work something clicks inside and I can tune out all the neagative stuff and just paint/draw be it digitally or traditionally. My art has really been my saving grace on many an occasion. It's vital to my wellbeing and I do believe in creative well being too. Your videos are always really inspiring and insightful and the more personal ones like this I suspect resonate with a lot of people watching and listening. I can empathise with you and I feel you genuinely empathise with those who follow and watch your amazing videos. Thank you for sharing this with us,for the strength is shows you have. I love the final artwork is it me or did it resemble Devon a little... I have the Himi jelly gouache as well and they are great paints to work with. You are amazing as a erson and an artist, hope things continue to go from stength to strength for you. (Matt)

i have been drawing since i literally could pick up a crayon, my parents where the same way like you said with i wasnt much trouble because i could keep myself entertained. but really i was using art as a form to express my emotions, i dont talk about how i feel and tend to bottle it up and instead i use art to express myself. when my husband and i where dating i didnt know how to say i love you a lot but i used to give him books full of my artwork and draw him things i knew he’d like and write him letters and poems as a way to tell him i loved him. art is so beautiful and such a great way to show ourselves and show how we are feeling and to just relase any bad feelings❣️

I was getting really frustrated at my art, but this video really made me appreciate the process of art. Instead of worrying about fast and accurate sketches, I try to focus on how the graphite glides across the paper, or how beautiful the colors or expressions are. Also drinking tea while drawing kinda forces you to take tiny breaks from drawing and sip a delicious brew :)

Hey! I love your art. I feel like this video spoke to me in a deep and sincere way. I suffered severe episodes of anxiety and need to write my final paper for college. I can only do this when I reserve time for art, between one study/work session and another. I also have depression. My diagnosis is Depressive Anxiety Disorder, which I have been treating for years. I always have relapses. Art embraces me and silences my mind. She is a best friend. Art saves lives. Thank you for showing your vulnerability. I hope you're okay. I love your channel. Loving hugs from Brazil.

Trying-a-new-medium anxiety is so relevant to me right now!! I used to love the feeling of painting traditionally, but rarely did it. Since I’ve been dedicating more time to art I always paint digitally, but want to branch out. I have some gouache just sitting around that I bought earlier this year, but every time I seriously plan on using it I get so stressed and completely shut down lol I think planning and not putting so much pressure on myself would definitely help 😊

I love watching you paint like this as you get into these heavy topics and I realize that I relate to you. I love that, not feeling alone. I have been depressed for almost two months now in which I haven't touched art which saddens me to no end. Every day, I wake up telling myself to push through, try to sit on my desk and try to continue any of my art projects and ideas I'm actually keen on doing in my head but physically can't in real. I barely can do anything and it makes me angry at myself. I have been so so slow at reading books which also sucks. I barely manage to study because I feel forced to so I can be done with this last semester at uni and graduate otherwise life is just pretty stagnant. I could never get myself to do anything when I'm in this headspace and I've been battling it for so long. I an starting to feel slightly better but still not enough to get myself back into the activities I love..I just hope it will be soon. I loved the freckle under her mouth. I actually have one in the same place in my right side like her. Felt like she looked like me in that aspect though of course I'm not blonde and my hair is actually very long unlike hers but still. Thank you for being such a great artist I look up to even though you're just a few months older. 😜 you're amazing. ♥️

It is so hard to open up about these. Using art as a therapy is great and I do it quite often. It really helps me relax, unwind, and heal. It really works wonders. Great video as always, Pips. I always tend to draw my OCs as my go to when I get down. That or Fanart for Something I enjoy. It’s mostly oc work tho and that’s fine. Again, great video pips and indeed art is comforting and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I also unwind and destress to music which also helps a whole lot.

Really good video. There is some really good sensible advice contained within your voiceover. Just to reinforce what you were saying about drawing to feel better, rather than waiting to feel better to draw. There is a very well researched psychological approach called Behavioural activation, which basically says that instead of waiting to feel better to do things, do things in order to feel better. Of course, it is also ok to choose not to do anything, providing it does not continue for too many days, we are all allowed time off now and then, it is called looking after ourselves. I would suggest to anyone that it is about finding the balance which suits us and your video definitely covered that, especially at the end when you mentioned everyone being different. T x

I am moving up to 9th grade and I am currently working on my portfolio for gifted art. I have been watching you for 3 years and after I was rejected from talented art in 4th grade I looked at my art as if it wasn’t good enough or that my art style was horrible. I stopped my creativity and I looked at tutorials and tried to copy other peoples art styles thinking that my art would improve more. But it didn’t. When my art didn’t turn out like the people I watched I gave up. That’s why I wish elementary gifted art should not be a thing. We were only kids and we were being judged instead of taught. But once I got in 7th grade I realized that the art tutorials I watched was doing more hard than good, so I stopped watching them, pulled up Pinterest images and drew. Now I learned that I have a highly realistic art style and I have the possibility of going to art schools at the age of 14. So for anyone struggling because they feel their art is not good enough, pull up a image and study and draw it. It took me a year to find my style so do not rush. You got this. 🌹and pypah you were a big part of my journey, I would put on your videos to inspire me when I felt drained, I don’t know what your going through but just know that you changed my life.

im the same, my mind kind of shuts off when i create art, feel it does help with my anxiety. more people need to talk about 'deep' topics when it comes to art, they are often related

Hi um so I just wanted to say how I deal with art block, I don’t expect you to do this, I just wanna share my experience. Once I realise I have art block I do something else that I know I love. I actually don’t draw my way out, I think when I get art block my hearts telling me that I don’t wanna draw rn. But that’s absolutely fine. For me I sing. Or watch minecraft videos. Or even cry for a while. I actually talk to my mom when I feel like, useless. Luckily I have a very artistic mom, and I am very grateful for that. So talk to someone who makes you feel better. Or if you don’t wanna talk to someone, journal or write in your diary. Also I feel like sometimes art is unproductive. I don’t think that like, when I’m in my senses. It’s a place where it’s like, nice.. lol. Lots of love ❤️

I am cracking up because I’m drawing while watching and when you said that everyone has their go-to doodle or sketch for when they’re having an off day, I was doing my go-to which is drawing my son.
