You can get addicted to a certain kind of sadness. That is a very powerful line and I don’t think a lot of people realize how strong it is.

@@user-nx6je4gz6q After being destroyed from a breakup and becoming depressed, you feel a certain emotional relief in your despair. A hopeful state that sort of tells you you will be ok. the pain is so strong and permeating that you can become so used to it that you would rather stay depressed and cut off from the world than have to face the daunting prospect of creating happiness for yourself.
@lilyivey5933
Ай бұрын
@@user-nx6je4gz6q"like resignation to the end, always the end" is the second part of that sentence in the song. basically, the line is saying that sometimes you can be so used to feeling sad/depressed that feeling anything other than that (like happiness) can feel weird. you chase the feeling of sadness because it feels better to stay that way because it is what is normal, and therefore more comfortable. humans are creatures of routine, so we seek out what is familiar, oftentimes.

Jesus loves you so so very much! He always will. No matter what! You do not have to earn salvation, it was given as a gift from Jesus. We are called on this earth to be disciples of Him and to preach His Gosepl where we can, we are to bring as many people as we can to Christ and His Kingdom. We are to preach the gosepl to the ends of the earth. Jesus died so that we may be set free. Do not live with fear of man (people pleasing, fear of getting rejected, believing that others can only give us worth when only God can give us worth because He is the only worthy one). Preaching the gospel to as many as we can, even in nervousness, even in knowing we may be rejected, even in knowing that is hard (courage is to do so emerging even when sacred), Jesus had so much anxiety about going on the Cross that He cried tears of blood to the Father, to God. But he died anyway, in pain He took the weight of our sins and carried that Cross on uneven ground-most likely tripping, but getting back up- because He had us in mind! Because He loves us so much that He was willing to die the most painful and horrific death, so that we may spend eternal life in Heaven rejoining and praising Him. He was in pain, but God! But God did it anyway, because HE LOVES US!! HE ALWAYS WILL!! NO MATTER WHAT!! He knew that if He didn’t die the way He was called to, we wouldn’t have eternal life, so He died anyway for us, and rose again so that we may live with Him forever. With joy, and praise and no suffering nor pain. Because God is that God. And He always will be that good!! Amen

You know there are more promises in the Bible about giving than anything else because God wants you to be like him. God is a giver. Everything you have is a gift from God -- He's generous and he wants you to be generous too. The Bible says, "A generous man will prosper; he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed." (Proverbs 11:25 NIV) Doesn't that verse just make you smile? There's a reason why it always feels good to help others, whether you're giving financially, giving materially, or giving of your time.

2:57 this part how your voice has developed 3:12 incredible piece Thankyou
Gotye's vocals sound even better and more heartfelt here!
Just upon hearing that the man behind Gotye is still musically active this cover pops up. I'm flooded by nostalgia right now, and his vocals still sound absolutely phenomenal! I will surely check The Basics' material!

Part of the point of the song is that the two voices have different perspectives on the same events: the first voice isn't necessarily a reliable narrator.

You can see how much passion he has for it and the signing of it. Seems like he’s using the pain (if inspired by an ex partner) as fuel for that passion. Seems like a great bloke as well. Have a beer with him.

I feel like it's really up to the artist whether they like the song/want to play it, in some cases it's just the artist not being the same person that wrote the song years ago so it felt ingenuine to them, a famous example being 'Creep' by Radiohead
Every time I see something dumb posted about Gotye, or another "Where's Gotye?" Video, I come back and I watch this, and I'm reassured, that he looks like he's doing great, his voice is even more incredible now and him and The Basics are producing some awesome music 😌. This is easily my favourite version, gives me goosebumps when Wally sings the chorus 😁🎶🎶
