@@OWGAC For point 4: The missing torque and agility are not from „bad optimization“. Thats just the barriers reached with this wheel size, amd with what amount of amperes are able to be pushed through such wheel. Bigger wheel- more amps needed for same amount of agility/torque. And there we go why it probably burned: To much amps for that thing! What nearly nobody of the reviewers recognized: GW uses a board with less Mosfets than usual (why it instead even would be better to use MORE)! So seams we are back at user beta testing ;-)

Great review as always. When I saw that guy lean over, grab the handle, and just shoot off like a rocket, I knew we were in new territory. I actually like that you can only unlock that potential with that effort and skill otherwise, it would be too dangerous... right? We all know gotway's shell and quality control is meh but because of that, it's forced the community to innovate. It's THIS innovation that has empowered Gotway to improve. It's time to just accept that this is how it is and this is how we are where we are. Question is, how do WE keep innovating these wheels after we get them from Gotway? We could easily improve the domestic aftermarket market here and start selling cases to transfer our wheels into. It's just lazy on our part to wait for Gotway to do it. Sure these wheels are expensive but if they were made here in the US, they would be twice the cost. If anyone thinks they can do better, prove me wrong but right now, we get the parts for these unicycles already neatly (somewhat) packaged in a plastic suitcase that can be used as is or utilized in a better way if so desired. A great example is the Tesla EUC. THIS is where I think we go from here. I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this too. I might repost this on the EUC forum lol. I guess I got inspired by your video Hsiang ✌😄

If it's things like shell or even ergonomic then we can certainly improve it through aftermarket accessories, but the thing that worries me are problem that comes out of the inherent engineering of the wheel, that would be much harder to fix!

I want to do this to a good full suspension ebike. I'll place the generator on the side of the bike where 1 of the saddlebags would normally go. Remember performance is just the theoretical capability of the wheel, the Monster can theoretically accelerate brake and may even off road (with proper tire) better than anything else, because of its larger motor and battery, but the problem is that its not tune to allow easy access to any of it. I have tested this by pulling on the handle, and it can accelerate and brake great, but its impossible to safely ride with one hand on the handle!

One thing we have to give Gotway (or the company with the new name): They are pioneers in the right direction! And even though the new Monster will not become a best seller and is far from perfect as you judged correctly in your video, it is another important stepping stone towards the wheels we want to ride in 2025. So even if I won’t buy the monster and stick with my older Gotway wheels and my Sherman, I appreciate the effort Gotway makes to develop new wheels and their sense of pioneering this rather new technology. I probably might buy another of their wheels (may be an MSP) just to support their cause.

I do have to say that all things being relative and that as heavy as the Monster pro is, compare to even things like a 150cc moped, which goes about the same speed 90lbs is nothing. My 500cc mp3 scooter weight in at 500lbs and there are many motorcycle that weight even more. I think it just means that these type of wheel would be used very differently than let say a 40lb 16" wheel.

I was expecting your response just so I can clarify this. It's not personal. So it's not about you whining 😊. Its a bigger wheel so some features cant be fixed. Good example is the kill switch..its too giant a wheel to even lift. But a good argument for upgrading the shell is the very same reason that it's a giant wheel. The latter is practical.
