Do you guys remember the first season when Ovi was playing for the Washington Capitals. He played every game as if though it was the 7th and deciding game. You must give credit, when credit is due. The guy is a superstar of the hockey in this generation. He has speed, he can be physical when he needs to be and yes. This guy can score goal with accuracy. But did you guys know, that he is one hell of nice guy? He is.

Plot twist : they didn't pulled the goalie , he just went away in fear of Ovechkin.

To be fair, the previous two goals were both the goalie's fault. The first one hit him square before going in and the second he couldn't clean up.

It's actually three out of his last 4. He didn't play the first game back , if you count a game he wasn't a part of then it was three in the last five.

Ovi be like: I had zero shots on net this game and Pasta is a leading goal scorer this season and there’s like 5 minutes till the end of the game? Let the big poppa do what he has to.

It's impossible not to respect Ovechkin.

Rmn Snk I’m not saying I respect the guy, quite the opposite actually. I was just pointing out that leaders of countries from my side of the world commit acts in the same manor. Drone strikes that kill innocent civilians, occupying countries we’re not wanted, etc. But, we’re getting a bit far from hockey now. Let’s just marvel and what a beauty Ovi is.

Wow. Already at 698 goals in the career and 40 in the season with still 28 games to play, we can see Ovi hit 60 tbh and at 34 years old, this guy is motivated for that Gretzky record.

Not a Capitals fan, but damn I love this man!! I truly hope he breaks Gretzky's record! Pulling for you Ovi!

Mike Bossy(NY Islanders) holds the record with a .762 goals per game. Ovechkin is 6th with a .614 goals per game. So, as great as Ovechkin is, he is not the all time greatest goal scorer in NHL history. Mike Bossy is! That is indisputable.

Ovechkin started the season at 13th all time in goals. He is now 8th, having passed Robitaille, Selanne, Lemieux, Yzerman and Messier. He is closing in on Mike Gartner and he might catch Phil Esposito at this rate before the season’s over lol. Gettin’ closer.

Lundqvist Still Elite When it comes to scoring goals, maybe not, but come on... His overall playing sucks, and his goals are rarely beauties. I prefer quality over quantity. A McDavid or a Crosby unreal goal over 50 goals that just look the same.

Not only does he not slow down, he ramps tf up lol. As a dude in his early 30’s myself, Ovi is proof positive that you don’t have to coast comfortably into being less than great. You can go guns blazing till they literally take your weapon away. I’m impressed my Pens were able to shut this man down the other day and I for one need to see another Pens Caps series this year.

Совершенн с вами согласен, Овца делает историю НХЛ . Но как не странно у них в команде он- Овечкин на втором месте пока как бомбардир. На первом по системе гол плюс пас Джон Карлсон - - защитник!!! У него 64 очка, а вот у Овцы только -57. Карлсон просто красавец - дал 50 голевых передач !!! Ну и 14 голов забил.

Like most, it all depends on the era you grew up in, for me gretzky is my legend, the GOAT and most likely always will be. But…I…cannot deny Ove's supernatural powers when it comes to slinging pucks in the net. He's just a beast and fun to watch and I really do hope Ove does break gretzky goal record.

Gretzky was a goal scorer and a great playmaker. That era was easier to score goals since the goalies were almost all about 5'8" with small equipment. The goaltenders now are bigger and better athletes.
