Shout out to Deniece Williams, of course and indeed but that’s not her singing this hook. That’s me on that lead and also singing on the backing vocals with Don Hamilton and Angee Blake. That was my very first professional recording session ever. Ain’t that some shyt?! and Grandmaster Flash produced and engineered. He was mellow and chill and got what he needed out of us. Real easy to work with. A pleasure. The recording booth was actually a small closet at his crib. We are all very proud to be part of hiphop history. Anyway, thanks for the compliment!
