I'm 66 as well and I will be Goth till I die tho' I've got albums from the sixties , seventies, and eighties rock got into Goth in 1984-5 and haven't stopped since.

1990 ~ Labyrinth in Wurzburg Germany… underground club. My memories of friends Daggi and Kati… they still haunt my passing days now and then. Miss you all and that timeless vault.

This is my first time listening to gothic rock. I usually listen to 80s rock like Motley Crue, Quiet Riot, Gunz n'Rose, Joan Jett, Ozzy, and classic rock such as Bob Seger, CCR, Lynard Skynard, AC/DC. I gotta admit this is pretty good.

A short story when I was in high school I met a full blown goth girl beautiful, I was into smiths and all. She wanted me to become like her for the longest and I never did, well we split up and later down the road I listened to all the tapes that she made for me and I fell in love with the music and i learned that goth music is passion and pain and very unique. Well now I'm 40 years old and been listening to this music for like 20 years and have long hair and wished that I would still have a girl like that.

ehh... young ones are so full of this won't go away feeling. It may not go away, or it could. You may change tastes, who knows what's to come? It depends on too many factors to tell that so soon. I am 34 and I can say this stick for sometime longer as it became the part of how I define myself. Anyways just keep listening what motivates you and what you like and don't constrain yourself to some genres or to what others tell or think. At the end it's you who listens to it :) Oh and try to find the bands you like before their members are dead or the band got disbanded... no live shows otherwise :(

Really? Im 66 too. I feel like Im perpetually 20 in the mind. Must be all the trips I took when I was young. Didnt know anything about Goth music till I started commuting with a young coworker. We saw the Sisters of Mercy in 1998 in San Francisco together. I still enjoy this kind of music.

Goth's are ageless. I know a lot of older Goths and they look half their age only because they stay true to themselves. I am a Goth/Metal girl and get told I look and act way younger than my 38 years. I don't bloody feel it at times! LOL.

Why do I like this? Now, after all these years, why am I enjoying goth rock?! Is it because of my obscureness? Enjoying the music and aesthetic that are "off the beaten path?" Thanks so much! I hadn't heard any new music that had me tapping in yonks. I love this Sisters/Mission(ish) rhythm guitar driven rock. So many bands that are new to me to explore. Back in the 80's peoe.were making fanzines and promoting pirate compilation/mix tapes. I ended up with shopping bags full of them. They gave a taste of bands I mightn't have otherwise heard as I lived rural and remote, so I only heard radio music at parties, all Punk and Goth(bar home-grown-N.Z.) was only available on import, so as dear as poisen. Excuse the waffle, all that to say thanks for sharing! May a dog never whelp in your bed.... unless it's your dog.... or she found no where else... you get it.
