Honestly, I love what they did with Nygma in this show. My grandmother and I just finished Gotham, and her--our, honestly--two favorite villians were Penguin and Riddler, specifically because of how they handled the dynamic.

Riddler, Penguin, Scarecrow, Mad Hatter, not one but two Jokers, the fucking court of owls, Ra's Al Ghul himself and many more. This doesn't really make sense but I just say to myself that Gotham is his own universe, his own take on the Batman's mythology.

@@brieuxbayot6823 Tbf, the Court of Owls and Ra's Al Ghul existed before Batman in the comics, as well. Someone like Penguin, who at the end of the day, isn't all that of an extravagant villain, I could imagine pretty easily existing before Batman. A couple of theories about the Joker's origin would mean Joker existed before Batman, but just wasn't as public and active before Batman. I also really like the idea of Batman and Joker being in a way being created at the same time and having a hand in each other's origins. The rest of these existing before Batman definitely isn't comic book accurate, but at least it's entertaining, imo.

I love the riddler in Gotham.
