Now THERE's an idea for a video, Pam. Using "just" a 1" circle punch, and of course the assorted other supplies, let's see how many ways we can use that ONE punched shaped. Maybe start with a variety of already punched ones, like scrapbook paper/card stock, dyed papers, collaged papers, etc. Maybe decorate a few "plain" ones to become things like "buttons" or similar. Then, how to add these things in, for example the tabs, etc. ❤ (edited to add: omg, "saturday" broke at the funniest spot!!! Had to pause to laugh it out!) I hope all my wonderful fellow Outpostian peeps are doing great and having a creative weekend! ❤

I'm so glad I found your channel & subscribed! A little over a month ago, my only son had a very serious heart attack. Thankfully, he miraculously survived, although the doctors can't explain how. It's left me with some stress & feelings to work through - my only brother died from a heart attack at 38 - my son is 39. Since his heart attack, I've started journaling to work through some stuff, and I started creating junk journals as an extension. I didn't have a lot of "supplies" to work with, so I'm slowly building a collection. I love how you demonstrate that we can literally turn trash into treasure, and teach us how to use stuff we have lying around - it's not only a great way to save money & save things from the landfill, it is an emotional boost to create something pretty and have that sense of accomplishment it provides. Thank you so much for doing this - you just don't have any idea how much it means to me - and I'm sure so many others as well! I know I can't be the only creative soul who doesn't have a lot of money to spend on hobbies! Just wanted to say "Thanks!" and tell you that YOU ROCK!!!

Hi Pam, & Sunshine! So glad Sunshine is better & nothing serious! Yes, I love a 1 inch punch circle. Put 4 of them to make flower, 3 can make a roundish heart. Then upside-down it & put another one on top for maybe a person. Just a few ideas with one inch punch circle. Thanks for the idea of making collage paper from scraps then use it to punch one each circles & other punches also! ❤Shari ☺️🫂🐾🍄🦩🐦🦋🍁

Hi Pam and crafty friends. This was really a very funny video. Was LOL 😂. Great idea. Nice, stress free craft session 😉 We have a Yorkie and when we leave her alone at home for a couple of hours she would sulk so badly she would really seem ill... refusing food, treats, belly rubs or hugs... and then the next day she'll be fine again. That does however not stop my husband and I from going into a flat panic thinking she might be terminal when she does this. I have to mention that she does have several health issues so we can never just assume she's faking it. Better safe than sorry. 🐕Glad that Sunny is feeling better 💞 I'm also from South Africa (I think I've mentioned that before), unfortunately I am nowhere close to the lovely Cape Town. I am stuck in a concrete jungle called "Gauteng". But up here we create our own beauty in our craft rooms 😁👍🏻🖍️ Have a wonderful weekend and create with reckless abandon ❤

PERFECT TIMING! I'm making birthday cards for all of my sisters. Five of us have birthdays this month and we're getting together for dinner tonight. We usually just give cards with money or lottery tickets. I'm done with the envelopes but I need junk journaly ideas for the cars. None of them know what a junk journal is. But, they're all artists so I need to impress them.

How about... turning your card into a mini junk journal style card? Add a little signature of maybe 2-3 total extra sheets. Create a few little pockets/tucks, maybe add a prompt word to a couple pages... Depending on the type of art they do, they may be more aquainted with an Art Journal, and you can lean on that by including papers with background color/texture they can add to. Incorporate a few things we do in a JJ, such as bits of trims, a button, paper clips, old bits of paper... I call this hybrid a Creativity Journal. I leave space for actual writing, space for ... well, basically, any kind of creativity! [I love these when I want to be creative, but don't feel very inspired]. I mix up types of paper, like multi-media, cardstock, printer paper I dyed, etc. Collaging, rubber stamps, and other background techniques on some pages. A page with a tuck can hold a journaling card with a one-word prompt on it, like, "Harmony", or "Nature". The recipient can choose whatever direction their personal Creativity Journal goes in, be it mostly written or full-on art, or if they want to lean into the actual JJ side of things. Adding enough elements you find (mostly) in a JJ adds that amazing flair to it, and (gradually) introduces the recipent to the idea of a JJ. (I still cannot manage to give a single-sentence response to the question, "what is a junk journal?" Other than: i like to use what a lot of folks call "junk" in my journals. Yeah, that doesn't really work 😂) Anyway, just my thought. Whatever you create for your sisters, I know it will be amazing, and your sisters will absolutely love it. 😊 The best gifts come straight from the heart.

Pam have you ever inked the edge of each scrap b4 you glue it down? It creates a whole new look. I think Mr. Sun-bun was trying to make you feel guilty for leaving him at home alone 😜. Thank goodness he didn't decide it was "turd o'clock" time... 😂

Some punches may be like scissors and it matters which way the pressure is made. Like right-handed or left-handed scissors. Or maybe they were dull already if you got them at a thrift store. And my last idea is that maybe there is gunk on the blades that need to be cleaned off. I think that's why punching foil or sandpaper helps things cut. Not that it sharpens but it cleans the blades. And that's my 2 cents worth. Oh, and if you have a directional punch you can change the direction of the image by turning the paper over. Thanks for your inspiration. I really enjoy your videos and have learned a lot watching you. Not only the way you do things but the idea of just trying something. It's only paper!! ❤❤❤

Crisco is one of the oils that is really bad for you. I only use olive oil now. Took all seed oils out of my diet. They are proven to be carcinogenic and also cause heart disease.

Oooh! A way to use Science in crafting! Given paper of uniform thickness, I think the amount of outline in the punch image affects the force you need to apply to punch the paper. The EK punches of each size have equal sized handles (levers) but the images are unequal in the total "length" of the outline. Imagine if you used a long string to make the shapes. A circle/oval encloses the space with the smallest amount of string. Any force you put on that shape is distributed onto a smaller surface. The butterfly, on the other hand, has those scallops along the edge of the wings, a longer string would be needed to make the outline and the same pressure to cut all of that extra surface would produce less overall force per square centimeter on the paper. This relates to the same idea of a person lying on a bed of nails with all of their weight as opposed to lying on ONE nail. Now to think about cookie cutters.... :-)
