Even in the books, it is a major revealing moment. Everyone around him calls him Kingslayer, despite knowing that the King was insane. Even Ned despises him, and the King tortured Ned's Brother and Father to death! Then it is revealed that he saved a city of half a million people and he doesn't laud it over anyone. It even kicks of the redemption arc in the TV series.

Steel Bear but you’re forgetting we actually saw it begin to snow in King’s Landing at the end of S7, and that the city was surrounded by forest in earlier seasons. That kind of stuff doesn’t turn into a desert for no reason. The Night King doesn’t dictate the seasons, after all, winter is natural. I can buy his death reducing the impact of winter but not it’s disappearance altogether. Of course, D&D aren’t the kind of people who care about in-universe logic so it makes sense that Disney would choose him after they already chose Rian Johnson.

Wasn't Dragonglass a big deal in Season 7? One of the three things that could kill a White Walker? Doesn't Jon risk his life at Hardhome to retrieve a bag of dragonglass? Didn't he negotiate a deal with Dany to mine it at DragonStone? Wouldn't arrows, tipped with dragonglass arrowheads make awesome weapons against white walkers? The lack of consequences for Cersei for blowing up the sept, and just straight up flaunting her sleeping with her brother was so incredible. The wrath of the faith was one of the main forces that nearly ended Targaryen rule, when the high septon declared them heretics for marriage between siblings, as well as Maegor's taking his second wife. Faith militia was created, supported by a number of Houses. For 7 years they fought and if it wasn't for the next king Jaehaerys they would have continued. And they were that much of an issue in the days of Targaryen's might, they had dragons to spare and armies to command. But when Cersei straight up blows up the Great Sept, killing a number of great lords, septons, and showcases her incest the faith is like: I guess she can be queen.

Back on s6 and beggining of s7, I thought Cersei only became Queen because she left implicit she could blow up the entire city otherwise. She was ruling entirely by fear, and was in a similatlr position to Aerys. I thought they would explore how fragile her government was, how her arrogance only led to a self destructive path. But then, somehow, Cersei starts to win the war on S7. Even with all the other houses against her, even without popular support, even with a defalcate army. Cersei's fall should be the main theme of the beggining of s7, but they conveniently dropped the bad consequences of her acts to simplify the war.

I was expecting winter to last at least a season, but realistically I thought that it would be about 3 or 4 seasons, since it was hyped up so much. I expected there to be a lot about people starving, cities running through their stockpiles, having to deal with the freezing cold in places that are normally always warm and the undead raiding villages throughout. Tbh I imagined something like all the major houses abandoning Westeros because of the army of the dead and having no way to survive the winter, and having to flee to Essos. Winter only lasting one episode was probably the most disappointing thing for me

6:08 In the books ALL of the Stark kids are wargs, except Sansa, and even with her it's just because her wolf gets killed so early. None of them fully understand the ability to the extent that Bran does, but they all totally do it. Arya Wargs into Nymeria and pulls her dead mom out of the river, and she also wargs into cats as part of her faceless man activities. Jon Snow and Ghost are arguably more closely bonded than Bran and Summer, and he probably wargs into Ghost right as he dies. Rickon is hinted to have a similar relationship with Shaggy dog, though he's a tiny kid and not a POV, so it's less explicit. Robb uses Greywind in a way that strongly implies he's warging into him to some degree, even though it's not as explicit because he's not a POV character. For whatever reason the show wasn't as interested in that fantasy aspect, so it's only Bran that gets the magical powers, and his role is greatly reduced.

After that is when Charizard realizes that Ash is a loving and caring trainer and starts to obey his orders. That was at least a 50 episode arc. Regarding Rickon being a warg/skinchanger. All the Stark children were wargs, with Sansa possibly being an exception, but since Lady was killed early it's hard to know. Arya, Bran, and Jon all had wolf dreams. Rickon clearly had them as well and it is strongly hinted that Rob could warg as well. Arya canonically is the only one besides Bran who can warg in other animals. It's because of this power that she manages to warg in a stray cat and see who was giving her the poison to make her blind and solve this part of her Faceless training. She also rescued her mom's body while warged in her own wolf, while leading Nymeria's pack.

Regarding the Iron Bank: Cersei paid back the Iron Bank, in full. This was a mistake on her part, as it lost her their support as they no longer had to support her claim to the throne to make sure they'd see their money repaid. Tywin kept the Lannisters' debt to the Iron Bank as large as possible, on purpose. As the saying goes: "If you owe the bank a million dollars, you have a problem. If you owe the bank a billion dollars, the bank has a problem." The Iron Bank needed the Lannisters in power if they ever wanted to make their money back. The moment their loan was repaid, they (wisely) exited the story and stayed out of the nightmare of instability that is Westerosi politics.

I may just now be getting around to seeing this video, but I have to thank you for finally pointing out the dropped potential storyline they set up during season one regarding Rickon and Bran both having prophetic dreams and visions of the future. It happens again in season 3 when Rickon and Bran are traveling with the Reeds to the wall. Bran and Rickon both awaken from a nightmare I think and afterwards, Rickon is very wary of Jojen for some reason. I’ve googled this before to see if anyone noticed this dropped storyline and never found anything, so it would was great to hear it on here! I also agree that the whole fact that Kings Landing is covered in snow with the black water bay starting to freeze over at the end of season seven, but is like a desert in the season 8 premiere is a bit of a joke. That was such a good part in the book when the snow finally starts falling in King’s Landing and the show took that away and turned the whole threat of the white walkers and winter is coming into one normal length night. Season 5 actually was dark and felt very much like winter had finally arrived. It was the only season where it seemed that we might get a horrific winter. This show wasted SO MUCH potential!

GOT is still better than any other shows post season 4 imo(With the exception of parts of season 7 and the entirety of season 8). And some of the best GOT episodes are post season 4. While season 5 and 6 kinda hit a low point in the middle of the seasons. It wasn't until season 7 that I really started to dislike certain things. And then all hell just broke lose in season 8 and my soul got shredded. With some guidance by GRRM and more episodes they could've made the last couple seasons very good. Dan and Dave are competent showrunners. I think the only reason GOT failed so horribly in the end is because they tried to rush it so they could get on with their Star Wars trilogy that I don't even think they're making anymore. And while I still think they're good showrunners, I'll never be able to watch another thing they do. Rushing and destroying the ending of the greatest TV show of all time? I can't forgive that.

For the Faceless man plotline In addition to the fact that the faceless men just kind of forget about Arya, when she gets backs to Westeros she only uses the faces to kill Walder Frey and then never uses them again, so what was the point of Arya training with the Faceless Men in Season 5 and 6 is she does almost nothing with it? I mean she did learn how to fight from the Faceless Men but I would've liked to see Arya use more than one face. It also made me sad they just decided to kill Pycelle, when I watched that Season 3 clip of him just pretending to be an oaf, I was more engaged with his character and really wanted to see more of him, but I guess we all know how that turned out.

There could be one possible explenation and thats simply what Mirri maz Duur said and those conditions were pretty much in chronological order. Honestly cant really tell where "when sun rises to the west and sets to the east" referes to in the show but in the books thats clearly about Quentyn and im pretty sure you could force something thats in the show that could fit too like Baristan comming from west and being killed in the east or something. Then "when sea goes dry and mountains blow in winds like leaves" that clearly referes to dorthraki leaving dorthraki sea and dragons blowing up the piramid. Right after that moment Dany left for westeros and she didnt have sex with dario when she was fertile. If you then somehow manage to bruteforce the first sentence on something that happened before the end of season 5 and somehow explain why "when your woumb quickens again and youll bare a living child" is sudently literal I could see this explenation actually working.

I’ll say this though. With Daenerys’ dragons not behaving, I got the distinct impression that they were “growing up”, and that they didn’t want to be coddled or cooped up. That’s why Viserion and Rhaegal were significantly smaller than Drogon. They mention that in the show as well, that trying to tame/control dragons didn’t work well long term. Not to mention, if you remember in the fighting pits of Meereen, Daenerys approached Drogon to remove spears from him, only to be roared in her face. However, instead of jumping back in fear or surprise like she had when they were eating, she stood unflinching. That is the moment that revealed to Drogon that she was a true Targaryen who wasn’t held down by fear of her growing dragons. There are a lot of awesome parallels between her time spent with the Dothraki and her dragons. They both view strength is equivalent to power (therefore worth obeying), so even though she was a Targaryen, she had to show strength in the face of danger, such as Drogon screeching and snarling in her face. From that point onward, there was no issue because of the moment in the fighting pits.

Even when he ordered her to be killed it sounds like it was her last test/ last attempt at becoming no one because when she killed the Waif he said “Finally the girl is no one” And although the faceless man might have been displeased with Arya for not becoming no one, he still respected her for her unyielding character. Hence the nod at the end. As she went through much more gruelling tests than other assassins but still managed to hang on to her identity (ps I might have misspelled some of the names sorry)

I'll admit, that was a dang good scene. Explicits Pycelle's manipulation for those who weren't as perceptive while showing Tywin Lannister, THE Tywin Lannister, _head of House Lannister, Lord of Casterly Rock, Warden of the West, Lord Paramount of the Westerlands, Hand of the King for three different kings, and Protector of the Realm,_ casually fishing. That's the kind of shit that makes you think "Yep. So badass he actually has time for himself."

In the book all the Stark kids are wargs. Bran was the most powerful perhaps but Aria was warging into Nymeria (unintentionally) from Esos. Jon also was able to warg into Ghost without knowing it.

Also, what was the Night King's plan to cross the Wall? He only did it becauseof the whole Capturing a Whight mini arc happened, where the Night King managed to get one of the dragons, who melted the Wall. But that only happened because Dany went there, and that happened because of Jon's decision. The Night King had no way of knowing Jon and Dany were going north. Even more, he had no way of knowing she had dragons at all. So... what was his plan? Just waiting outside? They were very close at the end of S2, and still managed to arrive 6 years later.

The first time I saw The Sons of the Harpy I thought that would have something to do with the Warlocks. It would have made sense. It would have been cool to see Salladhor Saan's pirate fleet have a sea battle with Eurron Greyjoy's Navy.

I remember the first time I saw the Erie at the vale in season one. I said to myself "I can't wait to see the fight they're planning around this castle. I also remember how big of a deal the dire wolves were made out to be, how the wolf was the Stark sigil, and there was one pup for each child. It was fate. I thought there was something special planned for them.
