More projects and track time is always a win. "We're not going nuts"........ We'll see! :D

had two e36's, a 325 and a 328, loved them to bits, it's a brilliant chassis (with few upgrades will outrun a lot of modern cars), but nowadays they just go for silly money! would love to own another one at some point but i can't ignore that the e46 is a lot cheaper and it's basically pretty much the same car/experience. can't really justify the premium for looks only (the e36 is a much better looking car in my eyes).

Another vote for Cae quick shift, I’ve got one in my e36 m3 and absolutely love it, simple enough to install, sturdy as hell and the changes are a joy!

Nice car.. personally the e36 M3 is my favourite car. ❤❤ I owned a 318is GT and I loved it. Only thing it's missing is a GT high wing. 😊 And personally I would change the wheels in a 17 inch kerscher rs wheel. From a Porsche.

I agree totally with Jay on the GT wing, I have a 1995 M3 GT and would NEVER want to have the risers fitted And I wish I could still run the 17"s but because of the big front brakes I have to run 18"s, and getting a good semislick setup for that isn't easy :D already helicoiled my cam-tray to be able to fit the valve cover properly. In my case the car is Bi-Turbo and I wanted more pressure on the valve cover gasket

Interesting to see how many people who initially rushed to get a GR Yaris now have either got rid of them or just never drive or talk about them. And you almost never see them on the roads. Can't help but feel like after all the initial hype, they're maybe just not that great to own or drive regularly. More fun to be had elsewhere.

I had a coolerworx in my 86 running a zf Box worked well tbf

m3 evo owner myself this will be great content to watch, Check it has the upgraded braided clutch hose it's a must..

Don't forget E46 M3 lsd. Internals fit right and in and ratio is much better (3.6ish if my memory from my m3 evo days many moons ago serves me right!)

Can't go wrong with an E36, I'd swap the wheels to 17 inch asap (Protrack One is my recommendation).

CAE shifter. had one on my e46 m3. Has first gear lock out from 2nd to 3rd

Forget about crappy helicoils. For something like a valve cover that’s going to be on and off multiple times you want to use EZlock or timesert, I promise you it will be a much better experience.

I’m the same, I sold my 97 MK4 supra SZR for £1800!!! With only just 105k on the clock. The same car 10 years later is £18k!! I couldn’t pay even half that for one now. Mental money

Its probably leaking that oil from a hardened and shrunk oring around an oil check valve. It lives behind the exhaust manifold runners. Get a viton replacement oring. Bmw only sells the valve with oring as a single part number iirc. Its like a large flathead screw

I'd absolutely Luv a Euro Spec E36 M3 ! So much cooler than a Toyota Yaris whatever spec who care's it't still a Yaris. The BMW S50B30 & S50B32 engines are almost as Awesome as the S54B32 in the E46 M3. For me the E30, E36 , & E46 M3s are all the perfect sized cars with EPIC engines. I def. know what you mean about the stupid prices of old cars and it makes me angry that I didn't buy more of them before prices got so out of control. I've heard Z4 shifter linkage is good and I may try that mod on my E30.

Irp shifter is very nice.

Advan RS2 would look dope on the 36

The e36 which competed in the btcc 1994 had the wing you guys showed on the stand without the riser blocks. Combine that with the corner splitters on the front and a set of white bbs centre lock magnesium wheels you wont get a better looking car.

It's been done before but it would look great on some BBS RC304's.. Also get those clear indicators swapped out for some ambers asap!! Heard good things about the garagistic short shifters and PMC is also supposed to be decent if you're on a budget.

I've got an e36 with a first gen coolerworx shifter and it's sturdy enough but the shifts feel awful, I'd honestly stick with a z3m shifter

I would absolutely recommend the Coolerworx shifter, I fitted one to my demo S65 1M (bumped into you at donington in it) ive had CAE in the past and I would argue the coolerworx is far better and more reliable.

👍I agree , never had a single problem with mine, never missed a shift even though its close gate.

That rear wing is a "GT" replica, not GT2 (no replicas exist of this wing version). I'd recommend finding something of better quality. Those aliexpress wings are really bad and flap at speed. Either Precision Glass Composites replica or OEM. OEM are easier for you guys to find over there versus the US PCG option. Glad to see an E36!

It will be interesting to see if you run into any issues with the m3 anti roll bar mounting collar on the HSD Coilovers. I’m curious as I’ve heard the locking collars always come loose? Also they don’t have any mounting tabs for brake lines/ABS sensor wire

I use E36 MonoPros on my E30M3. I've never had an issue with them. They require orientating correctly and locking off tight. It's as simple as that. We've used them for nearly 15 years 👍

*Samsona shifter work well in E30 and E36. Well priced and able to handle the punishment. Sadly had to sell my E30 M3 track car due to ill health and now I can't even afford a ropey E30 316! I've owned 5 or 6 E30 M3 and they cost between £6k and 14k with a particularly mint one of them being £13 200. That same car just sold for £55k! Much as I love them that's just crazy! I should have kept the £6k car but sold it to Chris Harris to build into a GrpA rally car. I never much liked the E36 version, although I had a nice E30 320is with an S50 swap and that was pretty quick. At least I still have this to remind me of better times and maybe a lottery win will come my way someday? When I bought it back it was with the proviso that it would never get in the way of my other projects. I would only work on it when I have time, and that's exactly what is happening.

Same here in Norway, you can't even get a modified road legal 318 to m3 under 30 here 🤦🏻 (There are few real m3s here because they where so expensive to register so people imported "cheap" ones from uk and Germany and moved all the m3 bits over to 318/320s and got them approved by the dmv as modified cars instead)

@@HardcoreMotors I don't know about Sweden, but here we had a displacement tax, weight tax and horsepower tax, so a 1500kg 3l/3,2l with 250+hp would be rather expensive new. So people bought a 5-10year old 318/320 and imported a m3 "parts car" which would "only" generate vat (25% of the buying sum) and move the bits over.
