There is no best ...music is not a competition..all are great and have something musically unique to offer rather there playing styles and abilities..being less or more...the battle of the bands ...whom'$s best or better at this or that...music is not a war ..nor is it some kind of game to win ...it is not a competition... and musician's ..well there's just as many none flashy none showing off famous musician's as there are ..flashy show off look at me ..look what i can do type famous musicians..all are good ..my favorites are the none show off..none competitive...cause they're truly playing for the love of music...and that's how it should be ..rather one may find what they have to offer good or not ...

This is Uli Lauterbach. Gregor, thank you for inviting me to this and all your hard work to make this happen. So much fun watching basses gone wild :)
Man that yellow Telicaster bass that the 3rd guy is playing is a beautiful thing! haha

Miles Williams you got that right. I was admiring it myself. What a gorgeous bass. I just ordered the Epiphone Jack Casady signature bass and I'll be paying on that for a while but the next one will definitely (maybe) be a yellow Telecaster bass.

That harmonic bend Wojtek Pilichowski did was actually so goddamn cool especially with the ghost note triplet right before it.

The most impressive is Junior Braguinha. His playing skills and melodic concept is just outstanding.
Love this series! Junior from Brazil wins this round of Bass-Face by a country mile!
Thank you again Gregor, it was great to be part of this! Everyone sounds great, and you did a fantastic job putting it all together...; )
I love it that HazE from Germany is playing a Squier PBass. He sounds great! So much for the mega-bucks rigs......

That's Harrison Ford
For me Jayme Lewis (4:56) USA had that "it" factor. Just a stank sense of groove and timing that pulled me in. Loved it!
Junior Braguinha, he's amazing!
Pilichowski!
That was an insanely trippy/ syncopated groove from Viktor Lorincz!
Lőrincz Viktor, and Grzegorz Kosiński are the best!
1:46 The master of solo double bass!!!
Fretless Frizz gave this video such a nice edge - no shredding/insane licks, just a mask and lots of distortion! That takes some cohones! :)

That's right Bruno Tauzin ... Thanx Gregor for also letting me be a part of this Video ... we must not forget the man who made this a possible Gregor Fris ... :-)
Nothing sounds as good as an Upright Bass. Organic 👌🏿 I think we're getting lots of Bass players wishing they were Guitar players. Lots of chords and solos 🤔 Kidding 😁 Badila's Bass tone 👌🏿🔥
Wojtek Pilichowski completely obliterated it! SICK!

4:40 that bass sounds so muddled that I think it was actually made in a swamp.
Gostei de ver o Braguinha representando :D
Ezra from Israel with that double bass.... LOVE! That was such a cool little groove he had goin on. Wasn't as complex as some of the others, I just loved how it felt. Does anyone know if there's a longer version of that or if it was just for the video?

That fretless 7 strings is spectacular. Not to mention the 5 strings double bass
Pilichowski, yeah!!!👍
I really enjoyed Wojtek, especially for that neck bend. I have not seen one used genuinely in a chop, line, or anything until I saw him. and I love it
I love that bassists don't feel the need to "shred" to express themselves!

not only i enjoy the talent and skills of these musicians but also the beautiful basses displayed on these videos
Fantastic video! This is one of the rare occurances where Remco Hendrix shows his face while playing his crazy licks!
Loads of bass talent all around this great world. fantastic.
Seeing all these crazy basses kind of freaks me out and it's relieving to see standard four strings.
For me, Bruno Tauzin had by far the grooviest bass line (0:56 seconds in). I'm not normally drawn to use a pick with the bass, but he really sells it here.
I literally replayed like 30 times Evan Marien's part its sooooo good
Whoah, you got more of those? Awesome, looking forward to ep. 3
yeah. Great work Gregor and feels so good to be mentioned amongst these überplayers.

As always, you rock buddy! The dynamics range in your performance is outstanding!
@deadbeatstudios
8 жыл бұрын
Thanks man, I truly appreciate that. I've always felt that HOW you say something is just as important as what you're actually saying, and musically that'll always translate well to dynamics.
@altrogeruvah
8 жыл бұрын
It's true, and it's sad that bassists don't use a broader range of dynamics more often, not only because I consider it to be the "salt and pepper" of a composition, but it's something as important as harmony, melody and rhythm.
@deadbeatstudios
8 жыл бұрын
+altrogeruvah totally. I'd challenge all musicians to include it in their bag of tricks. one of favorite things to do in an ensemble is to get quiet or stop playing altogether and see whose listening :)
Some fantastic grooves and techniques in this!
Wow.. so enjoyable. Thank-you for spot lighting these musicians!
