    Lovely jubbly! I love that Baz. Think it looks and sounds really pretty. Thanks for another fab review. You have taught me so much about different brands and what's good, bad and ugly over the last 16 months I have been playing. I so appreciate this channel.Thanks again!

    My very first uke was a used Snail concert for $90 (USD). It's still in my growing uke collection, no need to sell it, it still sounds and looks great and when I want to play a concert instead of my tenors it's there for me. A good brand and another good review. Thanks Baz.

    Got one of these, and agree with your comments. But I think it’s rivalled by the Enya EUT-MAD solid wood tenor - I think you’d enjoy reviewing that one! Even cheaper than this one (on naughty Amazon but SUS are selling the blue one), a deeper tone and the black-stained mahogany (actually chocolate) is delicious! Also it has a radiused neck .... cheers for this review though, it is indeed a nice uke.

    Reviewed the EUT-M6 - didn't quite get this score, but I like Enya's. Jury always out with me on radius necks. They are nice enough, and essential for me on a guitar - but.. When you consider that Kamaka - the brands that IS ukulele never used a radius.. Well.. Just don't find them all that essential. Here's the M6 www.gotaukulele.com/2018/12/enya-eut-m6-tenor-ukulele-review.html

    It’s a bit too bright, I wonder what it would sound like with different strings... haha I was typing it when you just said that! Maybe a low G? However, I do love the finish on that uke. Good review bud! 👍

    Looking to upgrade from my cheap mahalo uke and have been eyeing up snail ukes. I tried out the SUC-M1 at the southern ukulele store pre-lockdown and really liked the sound and feel. BUT I’m really not a fan of the logo. Would it be silly for that to be a dealbreaker for me? It’s a lot of money for me to spend on something I’m not completely in love with but i liked everything else..

    Mollusc - Cover the logo with something else! A nice sticker of something you like, such as your initials or a photo or a hibiscus, or whatever.

    I ordered this instrument from GB and it's finally on its way to me (Denmark). What kind of strings would you recommend on this?

  • @GotAUkulele

    @GotAUkulele

    3 жыл бұрын

    Sorry - I never give string recommendations - it's because we all hear sound differently, and our play styles differ too. So totally personal and subjective. What I like you might not!

    I don't know if you're still monitoring this post. I bought one of these ukuleles as my first, and I was intrigued to hear you say that you'd put heavier strings on it. Which ones and why? Your reviews (and web site) are excellent, thank you.

  • @GotAUkulele

    @GotAUkulele

    3 жыл бұрын

    I monitor all posts all the time ( I get emailed). From memory - the strings on this were very bright and thin sounding - that was the reason. Thing about strings though is that sound of them is totally subjective - for that reason I never give string recommendations as it would be pointless. I'd suggest getting a few other brands and testing. It may be you like the ones on it more - but that is cool. Sound elements of my reviews are totally personal.

    Just found your channel after only owning a cheap (£55) ukulele for a week and now I want to upgrade. Whats the big difference between a concert and a tenor as I know snail do this in both?

  • @GotAUkulele

    @GotAUkulele

    Жыл бұрын

    Tenor - longer scale length so different feel to the strings. Usually larger body which makes for more resonant, fuller tone. Though... not always - I've played some concerts with bigger voices than some tenors! Tuned the same though
