One of the worst things in this movie was this random "protagonist". Can't even remember his name. They should have focused on the game's characters and actual game plot...

right? i thought he was kuai liang since his name is "cole young" which kinda sounds the same, I thought he gonna have ice power and in the end it was gonna be revealed that somehow he is brother of sub zero bi han.

I think it remains for me that Kano was probably the only thing good about this movie for me. IF one good thing that can be said is that they gave Goro a rather long fight... but annoyed that he was defeated by a character nobody liked. But it's never like the series gave much respect to Goro despite him being one of the poster childs of what attracted people to play the game in the Arcades in the first place.

​@@street1008broo cole young is such an ass character, they have tons of combatants to choose from and they make a new one who's complete ass, they even tried to give him a signature "uppercut" judging on how much times the girl yells it at him. They could've went with Johnny cage if they wanted just a near to normal dude, I mean he did do martial arts, so there's the fighting background they would want, and he's a Hollywood douche bag, how hard is that to write?.

I think he was meant to be used as a point of view character for the audience since MK doesn't have a true main character and by explaining things to him, the audience was learning the same things. I wasn't a huge fan, but I get the idea

I agree the puppet was better and they actually treated him like a character there whereas here he's just a jobber but 2:13 is still a cool shot that the puppet could never do.

My biggest problem with this and I only ever saw this 1 fuckin time is the CGI is identical to ready player one And this is inexcusable for 2 reasons 1 is the obvious it's lazy CGI And 2 is in ready player one it's perfectly fine it's a video game world that's not supposed to look realistic but here we're supposed to believe he's actually there

Hey 🤓. It doesn't even look that bad, plus ready player one was like 90% CGI. This goro looks just fine, nothing lazy about it, tho the fight scene was pretty lack luster.

@@flippy101mph9 yeah I admitted to the actual fight scene, could've been better, that's where it's cheap, they make goro look like a slow sluggish monster, even tho he's a trained martial artist so they just have him walk around and hit slowly to save money on CGI. Only part he's fast is when the camera is in one place but all he's doing is punching.

So basically Tanya.. is a female Cole...?
