LETS ARGUE: You didn’t give it a 10 because you didn’t want to

This is the only time ever where Fantano’s newest review on his channel will be the same album as the oldest review on the channel.

Broken is the most underrated song on the album.

The year is 2030. Anthony is living on a literal plastic beach as rising sea levels have forced us to make artificial living spaces. "man this album really just gets more relevant as time passes, 10/10"

The Plastic Beach era is peak Gorillaz imo. This album is a masterpiece, and the track they later did with James Murphy and Andre 3000 is one my favourite songs of all time.

"On Empire Ants, in just under five minutes, Gorillaz create an immersive symphony. The first movement is one of ice; of ghostly keyboards that brush feather light atop a glistening, tonal space of bright ambience. "The polyphonic prairies here, it's all around you," sings Albarn, his voice floating high above the flawless sheen of glass-like stillness. Suddenly, a shift, a second movement appears far in the distance, a descending line of pointed synth begins to emerge, flying closer as each second passes. The stillness subsides and it becomes our sole point of focus, becoming more earnest with each refrain. Like a wave, the beat crashes overall, bathing the world in warm, dulcet energy, all while Little Dragon soothe the change in pace with words not meant to be fully understood. In short, this is electro as high art."

I’ll never forget hearing Empire Ants for the first time. What a stunning, transcendental experience created by the bloke who did the ‘woo hoo’ song

As soon as Anthony said "I need to do this album some JUSTICE" a police siren started wailing a few blocks away from my house. I wish I had that kind of comedic timing.

The message of this album and Demon Days have both aged horrifyingly well. Yay...
