The Rhinestone Eyes video was meant to be animated in the same style as On Melancholy Hill. However the video for Stylo cost so much money and the Plastic Beach album didn't perform as well as they had hoped, so their record label wasn't willing to fund this video. It's a shame because I truly believe it would have been a hit, one that the album desperately needed at the time.

Watching your face every time Murdoc does something disgusting is gold. No lie, my favorite part of Gorillaz is the personalities of the band members. I sat down and listened to a few Gorillaz Interviews and I have to say they put a lot of effort into crafting these characters. It's obviously not real, but the way this cartoon band interacts with fans is just different. They also have an audiobook and an actual hardcopy biography for all of the characters. I got into Gorillaz a few years ago, but I still haven't exhausted their content. 👌

It really is a travesty that Rhinestone Eyes never got it's video made. Beautiful storyboard for it.

The mtv cribs episode was from around 2005 ( phase 2) and rhinestone eyes was 2010 ( phase 3 ) we are now in phase 7 also the guy with the mask is the boogeyman I recommend watching lore videos

Definitely do El Mañana! that one basically leads into why plastic beach happened. Noodle's windmill crashing, her going to hell and then getting out of it; now older and as she looks in Rhinestone eyes. Of course Murdoc had to do with it too, though he didn't mean for her to get dragged to hell but the crash was meant to happen to get rid of some jimmy manson guy, Noodle was supposed to come out safely and go off on vacation but it went horribly wrong. Great reactions by the way! Really enjoyed this.

Idk if you have seen it yet but a yt creator named “Richard van as” made a animated version of rhinestone eyes based off the story board in the Gorillaz vid.

That's the 5th horseman of the apocalypse, Flatulence. 😂 He made a deal with Murdoc, and he's coming to collect.

I'm pretty sure Rhinestone Eyes got sort-of ret-conned? As in, they took it back. But basically: Murdoc grabbed Cyborg Noodle and hid himself in a submarine, 2D got eaten by a whale, while Russel got mistaken for a whale and harpooned-- leading to him and Noodle (real Noodle) to get separated. Noodle washed up on the shore and was nursed back to health, while Russel was captured by a government. All of this is still TECHNICALLY plausible and could happen after the video, but it definitely makes the Do Ya Thing video non-canon. Still a banger to watch though so in an alternate universe, maybe it happened.

You should really watch El Mañana and Stylo. El Mañana follows Feel Good Inc and was the last video of Phase 2. Stylo is the start of Phase 3 after that and is directly followed by On Melancoly Hill which would give a little bit of context to that video
