It was a nice find. Most machine-made rugs aren't worth 1/5th of what you paid the moment you've bought it even if its new, but Karastans of that era were made with really nice wool and that translates to better durability and color. Their popularity causes a lot of people who've decorated around them in the past to hunt for replacements via auctions, ebay, facebook, etc...

That sold fast! No surprise - it was gorgeous. I hope you sell rugs on eBay in the future. It's great to know a quality vintage rug has been freshly cleaned before buying!

It would be great if you guys can make a video dedicated to showing/ explaining all of the tools and equipment you use. Including the tools that are used when you are cleaning floors at a business or residence. I would be very interested to learn more about it. Love the content.

Probably one of the most beautiful rugs you gents have cleaned in years. And God Bless you for your support of St. Jude Children's hospital. Question - how would you rate an oxiclean/water mixture for home carpet cleaning. It's a synthetic beige to tan berber and, frankly, not worth having it professionally cleaned. It's old, stained, and worn. But I want to clean it as well as I possibly can. Thanks, gentlemen!

What a huge and gorgeous rug! It's a little disappointing that it's so big we can't see any of the white flooring around it, so it's harder to tell how dirty the water coming off it is.

This is amazing to watch. Only thing I wonder about who does actually asks for their carpet to be cleaned, appart from being it family relic, etc..? I mean, I do not know how much the service fee is around there, but nearby its deffo worth it to just buy a new one, especially if its that dirty... Can anyone tell me a really good reason to get it cleaned rather than just buy a new one if its cheaper? I am just curious

I buy the best home furnishings I can afford-usually after saving for them for some time. Doing so allows me to spend more for something that will last my lifetime. Buying good quality furnishings and taking excellent care of them is, in the long run, less expensive and better for the environment and less junk in the landfill. Fast fashion, whether in clothes, furniture, or rugs ultimately costs more because cheap things must be replaced more frequently than if you purchased a higher quality item to begin with.

The algorithm for some reason has been giving me a lot of these carpet cleaning videos lately. They're interesting but I can't imagine why it's worth the cost of all the chemicals, equipment, and labor to clean some of these rugs rather than replace them. Can someone fill me in on this?

Many designs such as this one are no longer made anymore. Because of its age it was probably made by hand. Think highly tailored suit vs Walmart.

Just as a heads up, autistic people generally suggest you not donate to Autism Speaks, because they're focused on finding a cure decades down the road, rather than on helping people who are living with autism right now. The alternative usually recommended is the Autistic Self-Advocacy Network (ASAN), but any charity that actually includes autistic people in the decision-making process is a far better choice.

It is really dangerous to have the power cable on the floor, I have seen them get wrapped around the spinning brush and rip the insulation off, not good when standing in water. You could hang the power cable from the roof on a long retractable sprung rope, a lot safer.
