I guess the cop gives a new meaning to the phrase “hard boiled detective” 😄

Had to check if someone had said it already. You're too quick for me, you walking palm tree with penises for fronds. Did anyone see where I put my LSD?
A quick note on the title Giallo no one asked for. In Italy, back in the days crime and suspense novels used to be published in editions with a yellow paperback cover, so that the term "giallo" (indeed yellow) used in the context of fiction always refer to some mystery story, usually involving violent death(s).

There was a period in which newspapers specializing in the sensational were called “the yellow press” in the USA. Maybe some used yellow paper too?
@Eisenwulf666
Жыл бұрын
it was the editor Mondadori that started it. I think the reason was the cover art looked better against a yellow cover? Or just to differentiate them..i've read multiple versions. They started publishing the series in 1929, stopped from 41 to 46 during fascism because they were censored by the regime and the post war situation and continue to be published to this day. A lot of great authors and many little gems were published this way. The cover arts too are incredibly charming. A lot of the covers can be found online btw

@@markiangooley "Yellow Journalism" stems from the main papers known for it also being those that carried the phenomenally popular comic strip The Yellow Kid.
Not since pink Flamingo have I seen a human being so infatuated with eggs...
The Fart Noises reduced me to a fit of the giggles. This is an eggcellent episode.
Attic of a Portuguese dental clinic is definitely the most unusual place to find a movie. Especially the, possibly, only uncut version.
First time I've laughed at a fart joke in ages, goddamn this channel is great.

Wasn't a laugh out loud moment, but Cecil knows his craft to well. I have a suspicion it was also surprisingly hard to edit/mix.
Yep, fart noises are always funny at any age. Haven’t giggled that much about farts since I watched Fart Within the Matrix years ago.

I was listening to this in public on earphones was shortly laughing so hard I had to get up and re-locate. I was okay for the first couple of farts but then Cecil ramped it up beautifully and I just lost it. (Cecil, I'm assuming that was done with your soundboard, but with the level of commitment you bring to your work, it seems equally likely that you just scarfed downed a can of Hormel beef chili right before the recording session. In which case, even more power to you.)

Louis CK put it perfectly many years ago: "You don’t have to be smart to laugh at farts, but you have to be stupid not to."
If you enjoyed Giallo In Venice, you should see Mario Landi's other film, Patrick Still Lives, an unofficial sequel to the Australian movie Patrick, it's just as crass and sleazy, but way more gory and mean spirited, and has one of the most f'd up death scenes in Italian horror history

"OK, then what does hard boilled detective mean?" - The director the film came out.
Cecil, I loved the Amy Schumer gag.
If this had been directed by Kubrick you could bet good money that the main actor hates eggs.
This video has over 25 grams of protein per viewing Allergy warning: this video contains both egg and man seed allergens
The last time I ate that many eggs I farted so much the guy in the next apartment called the cops to report gunfire.
Wait, I just realized: he's a cop that likes hardboiled eggs. He's a hardboiled cop. I'm not sure if the phrase is the same in Italian, or if it's just a massive coincidence.

You got to love old school 'Giallo" flicks...everything is way over the top & extreme. That's why we enjoy them so much. All those eggs were making me nauseous! Thanks Cecil, lol! Seriously though thanks...GoodBadFlicks clears away the Monday blues...
LMAO at the cleverly inserted fart noises
Well, given this guy's diet of eggs, he'll one day be roughly the size of a barge.
"What in the actual fu.." Fuckin killed me lol

You just know that that detective who constantly eats eggs lays down some ungodly SBDs. Like straight from Satan's colon.
It's the jokes that make these videos. I wouldn't even touch the movie itself with a hazmat suit on.
Thanks for making me laugh like I’m five again with those sound effects.
Also, I LOVE hardboiled eggs as much as the next person. But, that’s a whole lot of eggs that the main character is eating.
"He tries and fails to crack his egg on his pipe. They notice..." Wait, what?! Did I have a stroke?
My guess: The actor told the director that the character needed "a thing". "Oh, I got it! I'm always eating hardboiled eggs!"
Awesome Kids In The Hall reference!!! Love your videos.

The eggs was the best part
Really interested in an Exploring episode on this one. The title was just circling around my head constantly for years upon years, but I never thought that it's that much of an oddity. The level of absurdity of the plot in relation to how violent the shock is approaches A Bay of Blood by Mario Bava.
Gotta love Giallos.
New title: Eggs, Seggs and a Sawed Off Legg
What a way to start a movie.... WITH PRON MUSIC!
Hilarious review! I’m crying.
Thank God that's Ova!
The genus idea of a character that is eating an egg in every scene. Lol
Excellent review. Enjoyed that so much
@Goodbadflicks. When you go over “forgotten tv shows” here’s one you need to add: Sledge Hammer! from the 1980s
This is what I'm going to say at work when auditors come one day and we're on the verge of being shut down- "Calm down...have an egg".
White trousers. Never a good idea when you eat that many eggs.
The detective's red corpuscles must be moving through his blood vessels single file.
Love these O&A references, they make me smile. Keep 'em coming! Moar plz!
My kind of inspector.
Love it when you do Giallos...
This movie is so unknown in Italy that even two of the most "prestigious" movie dictionaries - The Mereghetti and The Morandini - do not mention it at all.
"It's been pretty tamed gore-wise." >Next scene features dismemberment
I am so addicted to your videos! Every day I watch Candle For The Devil.
"Hmm this character needs a gimmick. What about a catchphrase?" "FUCK THAT EAT ALL THE GODDAMN EGGS ASDBHASHABHASFAGAG"
This plot is very similar to Sans Mobile Apparent (Without Apparent Motive), a movie by Philippe Labro, made in 1971 and with Jean-Louis Trintignant.
Crossover idea: Gor in Venice. Where's my paycheck, Hollywood?
I'm so immature. The farts made me lol.
When I was a teenager my friend and I went on a long road trip several hundred miles away. That morning my friend had eaten nearly a dozen garlic infused eggs. We drove with all the windows rolled down even though it was January .
This one was absolutely hilarious!
Bshahahaha I almost choked on the old egg on the pile joke
I've never expected you to be this shocked by a film lmfao
Goddamn, that dismemberment scene, assuming I'll ever see it whole and uncut (pun intended), sounds like it could rival that of "Kinatay" (2008) in terms of sheer depravity and bleakness.
I've gotta watch this movie in its entirety sometime, but Cecil's review was definitely hilarious!
This has to be your best video yet 😂
...what a masterpiece of cinema
Egg and Milk Farts.... We've all had them lol lol ..
Hilarious vid. Man, movies like this is why I keep my Fullmoon Feature subs. Now to watch this gem..
That detective loves eggs almost as much as Divine's mother...
Come for the movies. Stay for the euphemisms.
Unless you have a gas mask do not get into an elevator with that cop.
There's so much voyeurism and murder that if this had a few more split screens I'd say it was a Brian De Palma film.
Liked the Amy Schumer line, and due to last week's vid I picked-up Legend-TV show due to your recommendation.
Whyyyyyy do farts still make me smile?
Where does this guy get all these eggs? Does he have a full-sized chicken living in a literal pocket dimension, as in his pants pocket?
maybe the cop himself is... hard boiled.

0:33 I am fond of those productions where the music contrasts with the movie. I have seen so many horror movies with happy jazz music from the flapper era that I now associate that music with horror.
7:09 "Oh. The camera's on. It's been on the whole time huh?"
Oh my lord...I was somewhat constipated, but after watching the scenes with the egg eating detective, the subsequent waves of laughter caused me to give birth to a 4 pound, 6 ounce brown baby boy that I will call "Eggy"... Egg-cellent review!!
