The younger sister wasn’t crying over cinnamon or garlic, specifically; she was crying because she has to deliver horrible food and take all the customer complaints for her father and sister, but she’s powerless to do anything about it.

Always loved how Tariya is constantly being yelled at by her sister for crying but when her sister collapses in tears, Tariya is right beside her comforting her. No "now you know how it feels," no "serves you right". She just does the right thing and comforts her sibling. It's such a strangely tender moment.

@@IdiotDoomSpiral69 public displays of tears and breakdowns absolutely implies a weaker, more instable psyche. It's not really something to be prideful of nor ashamed of. Feeling deeply is a plus but constantly crying displays instability. There _is_ a fine line. What Live_concerts means by "stronger" is that, yes, keeping ones emotions in check does mean they're tougher, and this world needs more tough people not emotionally unstable ones. Instead of preaching he show empathy, I recommend seeing outside of your little box and showing you're capable of accepting differing opinions. 💕

It always astounds me when someone gets picked on for crying, as if that isn't a valid form of stress relief. There's already enough yelling going on between the dad and the sister, and being the server, she's the front-line fielding complaints and any of the less-than-polite customers, but they consider her weak for crying instead of just adding her voice to the cacophony already going on between the two in the kitchen. Good gods, I'm really surprised she didn't just leave town and her family before all this came to a head on the show, the abuse here is just sickening.

My heart is breaking for the sister who was crying often named, Taria. She was treated HORRIBLY by her family, especially her sister and dad!!! Meanwhile when her sister finally broke down and cried, Taria actually stood by her sister's side despite how horribly her sister treated her. Also, it's very sad that this family called for Gordon's help and yet they get insulted when Gordon called them out! By the way, the "father" here was a terrible fatherly figure, he raised one daughter to be as aggressive as he is and the other daughter, Taria clearly has an anxiety disorder. Taria is the only one who I feel bad for here

I feel bad for both daughters. Elise was raised to be aggressive like that. She was raised to deal with problems by yelling at them. Her sister cried, she yells at her. A customer said a dish had too much garlic, her response was to yell "then get the fuck out of a Greek restaurant," which, to be fair, she wasn't wrong there. Also, she is probably stressed by her dad, who didn't teach her the correct way to deal with stress.

It has been widely reported that most of the conversions you see are scripted. The staff are real, but the producers go over the planned conversation before it is filmed. The first night is setup to fail on purpose. The production will send in 3 times more customers then normal to purposely make the kitchen fail, and tell the customers to specifically order the difficult menu items. So while somewhat fake... it is still entertaining

Honestly, I am like her. I cry at the drop of a hat. But it's mostly because I am sad about other things, stressed and have depression. That girl has obviously been stood on by her father, talked down to because she can cry easy, so now she crys at everything.

This place is mere blocks away from my apartment, they are very much still open, so they're strong enough to survive the pandemic. Usually full house near the end of the week and into the weekend nights. A tough family dynamic, but the fact that they pulled through in the end and are still around I think shows there really is a lot of care.

Looks like as of 2023, this one is still roaring. One of the few that was actually saved long term! And I'm so happy to see it, the passion and excitement from the family is apparent. The father was a mean old man stuck in the past, but he was always passionate about his food, and constantly beaten by the stress of the failing restaurant. I knew any change that would show would be sincere, and as soon as he started smiling in the episode, and as the episode went on, I knew that the restaurant would be in good hands. This is one that I would like to visit myself.

This is such a guilty pleasure for me. The editing, the musical stings, the dramatic aggressive behavior at the beginning only to be followed by a humbling uplifting ending. It's so stupid but yet I can't look away. Most of these restaurants closed down after this show made it seem like Gordon was going to save them. So silly yet so entertaining.

I always laugh when people say “what does Gordon Ramsay know about *insert different type of foods* “ Oh…i don’t know, he’s cooked nearly every food on the planet, has multiple Michelin stars and decades of experience being a chef/restaurant owner, the list goes on and on. I would think he knows. Lmao. I also love them rating their food 10/10 but make $5k/month at the most and the dining room is always empty 😂

That has to be my favorite part of any of Ramsay's shows, that moment where the chef gets fed up and debates Gordon on how he doesn't know what he's talking about. They always rate their dish super high, as customers are saying the opposite.
