I'm a bistro pub chef and I wish to work with Chef Ramsay. Dedicated, Organized, and tough ! When you work in a kitchen with culinary school graduates it is a nightmare !!!!!!!! and all Mr. Gordon does is shape you, open up your mind, dedicates you to a life in the kitchen ......... Believing customers are #1 is his main goal ........... Love the chef he has earned my respect since many in this cooking world have lost the respect of the customers and serve crap out of the line .

I'm all for Mr. Ramsay here, and his last point being "Customer is King" kind of throws me off. Because on several occasions, when a customer has come into the restaurant in Hell's Kitchen and ordered something that was not on the menu (e.g. fried eggs and bread or something) he absolutely obliterates the customer. Why? The customer is making it slightly easier for him by ordering that, Gordon's still gonna charge them, and the customer will be happy. Why bash the customer if they're king?

All very cynical and well thought out. He knows it's a show and people want to see him do that. The people who go up expect it... all a clever charade! I think in reality, he knows how his bread is buttered and wants to please the customer because as he says... no customers = no business

It's funny how he says "the customer is king" yet, in Hell's Kitchen, any time a customer comes to him with a problem, he calls them a donkey and tells them to fuck off.

the customers know that the cooks are amateurs, and i think they dont even pay to eat... they eat for free. So i can understand gordon going off on the customers because im sure they know whats up, and they only go up to chef ramsay for t.v time.

Yeah.. boredom sucks, because then you start to think, right? Commercial sucks!!!! But Gordon know's what he's talking about. I'd wish he stopped kissing the customers ass all the time though, as if he's begging us to eat at his restaurants.

Try to avoid Indian customers because they never leave a tip! A majority of my Indian customers who dine in at my restaurant, don't leave a tip. A small minority do leave an average tip, but my servers are lucky to get one dollar from most Indian customers. Although many of them drive BMWs or Mercedes Benz, giving you 14 cents will be very generous.

In China they don't tip at all. They find it offensive to do so because they are getting paid for their work as it is. In USA they done tipping because the restaurants just didn't want to pay their staff a proper full wage.

I'm not a fan of 'tipping', it's the restaurants responsibility to pay their staff properly. In the UK it's not really very common at all, and I'm glad, when I'm out with friends /family i want to enjoy my time.... not worry about offending waiters and trying to figure out how much to 'tip'.
