There has already been some talk of replacing the collapsed bridge in Baltimore with this style bridge because it will be a faster rebuild. I hope the designers look at how far behind schedule this is before making the decision. Don't get me wrong it is an amazing structure just way behind schedule.

There was almost 3 years of Covid at at critical time which affected productivity and materials supply on most major projects. The automobile manufacturers are still playing catch-up. Definitely looking forward to crossing this bridge in late 2025.

Oh, those deckheads have to only be about 100 metres apart by now...

They should build a ramp and do some jumps.

Re Gordie Howe International Bridge 2024-04-23: from Canada: As a retired former Fast pass holder, I see righteous pride in this - a lot more effective than the Ambassador bridge (Which I once crossed in the dead of night._ Can you do a video narrative to tell us what to expect for what I have described here? However as currently the meeting of the 2 sides of the bridge structure is close to closing, I think likely it will be some accessed time before the bridge can actually be opened to traffic, especially commercial crossings, as the work for the approaches on both sides may need a bit more time, as well as the cleanup of equipment and debris left over from the bridge construction. While this work appears to be much greater on the American side (it was sorely needed, both for the sake of the U.S. and for the City of Detroit), It looks to me that the amount of work for this is a lot bigger on the American side, but the needs are greater for American than the approach counterpart in Ontario, (notwithstanding the importance of the bridge itself.) On the Canadian side the most important issue as regards the approach, in addition to facilities for customs and immigration, is the joining of Hwy 401 directly to the bridge, eliminating the need for trucks to use Stone Church Road (AKA hwy 5) for all the huge truck traffic. @@EvoTorrance I Am not asking when it will be totally completed, I am asking when will the last section of the bridge deck be connected to the bridge decks of two halves that are done.
