Gopro POV Solar Panel Installer

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

This video is filmed on the GoPro Hero 9, of what a solar installer would call "throwing glass". This video is shot in the "point of view" of a solar panel installer carrying solar panels across a steep roof 20-40 feet off the ground in 100-120 degree temperatures. As solar panel installations continue to take over the rooftops of the world. Solar electricians and solar panel installers are one of the fastest-growing careers and industries.

Great video, I install solar panels here in Ireland its nice seeing how other people do it in other countries. I have a small KZread channel and share some install videos. I use a bucket truck now so that I can install by myself, its hard to find anyone here to help who wants to do it. I laughed when I saw your video of your shoes, I go through a lot of shoes too lol 👍

Bro you did a good job on that. I install there every day just like this. Any tips for skirt mount installation? I use a string line atm and it works decent but I get some spacing gaps thatll open still and have to move the bottom mounts

What are you plugging the panels into cause I see you are just placing panels and not hooking them into anything?

How do you handle wire management on a railway system? Seems like there would be less places to keep wires from touching the roof

  • @solargoat

Yeah definitely… best way to is get some clips that hold the wires to the frame of panels.

I always try and gap my panels on all 4 sides. I think it helps with ventilation, snow, thermal expansion etc. it’s rare but I have had panels shatter from not being spaced and tightened down to the right torque.

Vibrations from panels touching can cause micro fractures in the cells. You can’t see them but if you have a thermal camera it is very clear to see.
