One thing I find amazing is how much the trombone here appears to overpower everything else, even though it doesn't particularly stand out from the audience perspective. I actually found that out myself on my first performance (in a string group of 9 people, I was the only one on my instrument). At one point I had the melody, and it sounded to me like I was playing quite loudly. When I saw the recording at home, I realized that I was barely audible. The sound on stage is quite different from how the audience hears it.

@@cmcphotography1 The concert was cancelled due to COVID lockdown. It is replanned in two weeks with a slightly different setlist. In the initial setlist, he was supposed to play the 1941 March which is a fun piece for trombones. It is not any more in the list and he was a little bit disappointed by this. Anyway, other fun pieces like Superman have been added. The nice thing for him is that he will play the concert with a pro trombone (a Bach 42 BO, which we offered him two weeks ago) instead of his student trombone (a Yamaha 446G).

I LOVE unison cylindrical brass. Trumpets and trombones were made for each other, and John Williams emphasized that with one of the most iconic Star Wars themes out there. By the way, outstanding playing on your end. Even with the GoPro on your slide I could still hear the first and bass trombonist clearly. Assuming you have an orchestra style trombone section, of course.
