I completed an update today (NZ) and I am back in the air again. Only a short 5-7min flight but all seemed okay following the update from GoPro

Thank you for this information. Like you.... I was quite pissed when I could not operate the Drone due to the compass needing to be calibrated as well as the GPS issues. Your information was very helpful! I did not enjoy the repetitive failure attempt to update but that was my wifi issue. I am back to flying and crashing ;) Thanks again!!

Hi, were can I download the .1 version?

I have updated my karma and everything it asked me to do but I still seem to struggle with the gps though

My screen didn't have those icons at the right top. I had to connect to wifi and then got an update notice. After that update I got the screen you show and was able to update everything. Now to go see if it will fly... And it worked!

his made it look pretty simple. Thank you for the great video showing us everything. I know GoPro discontinued the unit but with all of it's problems I really do love this drone and am sad they had done so. I will update mine tomorrow and enjoy it for as long as I can enjoy a discontinued unit. Do you know if we can still order things like replacement propellers and such?

I had to reset mine before it would take the update. It's fine now.

Here’s where I am bud,everything has updated and I’ve done it twice. It’s still saying no gps. The camera is also ticked update successful,don’t understand! Any help would be appreciated.

Does it happen when u calibrate the compas or can u even try spin the blades as if for manual flight without gps ? Can you confirm if the karma core is updated to 2.50.1 firmware ?

It is telling me all my attachments are up to date but the GPS will still not get a signal.

I did the upgrade last night because was not calibrating and is fixed now.

Does your drone still work ? Mine after the update was working ok, now it's not connecting to the controller. The drone turns on, the camera does not start, and the drone cannot be turned off other than removing the battery. I suspect programmed death after last GPS problem update.

Downgrading yoyr firmware wont help, currently the only solution to really fox the drone is send it to France to guy named Luis Nobre , he has former karma.employees who can fix the drone

I just tried to do the update and the Core won't initialize or shut off. I have to remove the battery. It worked last fall when I put it away. Is there a option to reset the Core?

I can't find GPS location... My karma controller starts getting GPS location but it's fail. I'm using my wifi to helps my drone but I keep without any signal. And it's very ironic because I can see where is my karma on the map... I can put my karma on the air, but without any GPS, so it's dangerous My drone is on 2.50.1 version too but I'm with this problem

Do you try in the same olace where it always was fine ? I mean open clear of obstruction etc ? Some people after update ezperienced problems and unfortunately had to replace the core of the drone , basically gopro send them for free , pls contact them and explain your problem suggesting it doesnt work after the update

Honestly i would recommend you another drone , gopro karma us a nice drone but its far from prerfect and has many limitations , check mavic air 2 or mavic pro 2

You can press the "Notified" button and fly there. Just use caution and common sense. I live near a small airstrip myself.

Hey , i only know that if u have this problem u should talk to gopro support and ask for help. Also heard that it might be a problem with karma core after the update but nothing is certain untill u talk to them and persuade them that it worked fine before and u experience the problen after the update etc , wish u luck bro !

My GoPro Karma will not pair with my controller. I've never crashed my drone and have always taken wonderful care of it. Have you ever experienced that, and if so, do you know a way to fix that?

Hey , i havemt experienced your problem.but from what i heard people had to replace their karma core cause it wouldnt pair with the controler after update , please talk to gopro and explain it to them maybe they can reolace your core

Kontroler sam powinien ja znalesc dla Karma Core po podlaczeniu do wifi, czasem trzeba zaktualizowac kamere osobno.

So it's almost May and I've updated every piece of equipment in order to fly and the second stage of calibration is still failing and I'm still grounded. HELP!!!!????

Hey sorry for such a late reply , i can only recommend you to talk to gopro support and push them that it doesnt work after the 2020 gps issue and update doesnt help , u have to empasis that it worked before

MY GO PRO IS PAIR WITH THE CONTROL BUT IS ASKING ABOUT THE GPS WHAT DO I DO TO ACTIVATE THAT. I HAVE 2 YEARS THAT I DONT USED MY KARMA AND TODAY I DESIDE TO USE IT AND IS A SHOCK FOR ME OF KNOW THE THE KARMA IS DISCONTINUE AND I CANT FLY MY DRONE.

I just recently noticed my GoPro Karma is no longer working due to some pairing issue, it simply wont turn on and pair, stabiliser wont turn on, camera wont turn on and on top of that the drone wont turn off , so sad to see that as I really liked using it

I dont want sand coming into the engines and motors etc , i used to land normally ever since the arms got some sand in it when i unfold them i cam hear some resistance

Can you change GPS provider on the go pro? Hack it so you can fly this drone anywhere or is it possible to have the drone stop using GPS? I do like GPS but my city is mostly all blocked. Anyway I can do this?

Pls try to udpate the camera seperately , with your phone or computer , obco your camera is up to date put it inside the drone and do the update

@@Tomasz.Nowacki it worked thanks! For information, Once I tried with camera on the drone and it failed after that I tried to take the camera out at it kept on giving me the error .. I had to basically dismantle everything and also log off and log on and it miraculously worked .. Thanks!!

At the time yes ! All i did was to update it to latest software but some time later like a year later i couldnt turb on my stabilizer and pair my drone to cobtroller so it doesnt work for me anymore

I dont have it but if you search for " gopro karma how to reflash" you will find it, btw there is a guy Luis Nobre im France who can fix this issue and your Karma can work again

Right now i dont remember cause never had to do myself but i read somehwere about it im pretty sure you will find a solution if you search, npt sure thought if controler having latesy firmware will complicate things or not

Yes karma has a follow me mode and tt tracks the controller by gps as long as its opened :)

Hi guys, just letting You know that I crashed my Karma today, partly on purpose. I had updated my Karma two days ago, four boxes checked and did few flights after that, awerything OK? Not so, today I lifted my Karma maybe 15 metres up, howered and starting to do 360 turn, when after 45 degrees turn, GPS connection broke and Karma took of, backing away full speed, I lost Karma from my sights, and was forced to ditch the thing on trees, reaction time was few seconds, battery was full and I had almost no control of it. Now it is busted, and I am gutted, Karma was two years old with Hero5 black on it. This happened in Finland, middle of flat wooded area, no obstacles anywhere. Lets be careful out there with Karmas

I have strong interference around 300 or 350 metres and more than that i dont trust this drone enough to fly safely. There are thousands of cases where people lose their gps and if on top of that u dont see your drone and have bad connection its 100 % chance u lose the drone.

@@PowerBeeKill just try to keep it in your line sight , remember tonalways calibrate your compass and avoid metal around your flying area or landing area , set your return to home at 70 or 90 metres so even when u lose signal it will not hit a tree, and try to returning with spare battery level in case of emergency

I think all you had to do is touch the power button on the camera while it was installed to wake it up then the update would show on your remote. I am going to update mine soon it has been sitting for years after malfunctioning. GoPro was horrible with support. I gave them flight logs and everything they asked for yet they would not take responsibility. It took off once crash landing over aike away I was lucky enough to recover it and repair it . Then I waited a year for an update and gave it a shot again when it was non responsive to the controller taking off into my neighbors garage . I had to repair their siding . Luckily it did not hurt anyone. This done I bought for around 1600 dollars new when dji and GoPro were just coming out with similar products offering 4k video . I clearly should have bought dji . I think GoPro should have refunded all customers if they were going to pull the GPS software grounding the very expensive drones their loyal customers were now stuck with . Shame on you Go Pro !

Tomasz Nowacki After I downloaded the firmware, the screen on the remote controller suddenly got stuck and only showed the spiraling paring symbol. After 20 minutes of consistent spiraling on the screen, I got tired of seeing it, and decided to reboot the remote controller. When I rebooted the remote controller, the screen got stuck again, and this time would only display the GoPro logo. It wouldn’t allow me to go into the menu. So a few days later I bought a new remote controller and tried to pair it with the Karma Drone. Sadly, the new remote controller is refusing to pair with the Karma Drone. So it looks like I’m going to have to end my 3-year relationship with GoPro, and start fresh with DJI. It’s a very sad ending!

@@johntheprofessional5039 ohhh i think you shouldnt have bought the remote but contact gopro and put the blame on the new firnware , there are other people who had problems pairing their remote and drone , from what i remember it might have been karma core problem , if i were u ibwould return the controller while you still can , tell them to replace that core for you , and if you wanna end your journey after all of that u can sell it or keep it and try dji , with dji ( i have mavic pro ) i would go with eitger mavic air or pro 2 :)

Yes I have seen it, i wouldnt be getting one because of Wifi connection and poor camera capabilities, its a good entry level drone and if image qualilty is not the main factor for you then go for it :) for me currently image quality is the most imprtant

its a fake update.i updated the drone he fly for one minute and than lost gps conection and crashed.its fake,go to fix the issue not to lie to people who trust the gopro.

I heard some people after the update have crashed their drone due to loss of signal mid flight even close to them and had other issues like gps gone midflight, found about it a while ago now but there are so many people who flew their drones and nothing happened its hard to say if the update is responsible for that 100%

@@ervistopollaj well the best thing you cam do is to contact gopro support , send them your flight logs , explain what happened , push them it might be the new update fault and they should send you new karma and camera :)

Los karma drones no estan reapondiendo. El mio se jodio la semana pasada.
