Nice catch, that means this was either not completely legit or they did multiple jumps. More than likely he did some practice jumps with less rope or something before doing the full drop.

McSippi3000 they said that he was jumping on a static line which is only half true. The rope is a dynamic cliblmbing rope.and has 10% stretch and I'm pretty sure they used highliner "screamers" to lessen the blow

A static rope is one which doesn't stretch; falling and being caught by a perfectly static rope is pretty much just as bad as hitting the ground. They called the rope here static, but it isn't really - it's just much less elastic than a standard "bungee" jumping line. This rope is actually at least a little bit "dynamic" (kinda stretchy), and dynamic ropes commonly used as a safety device when rock climbing. If you fall on it, the stretch spreads out the impact so you don't get hurt (like landing on something soft). Side note - Given that he fell more than far enough to reach terminal velocity, the rope could conceivably be much less stretchy than a standard dynamic climbing rope. A lot more rope was available to stretch relative to his velocity than would be present in a normal climbing situation, to the point that the rope they used may have been actually labeled as "static." Idk what "screamers" are.

I have a question unrelated to Fusion. Seeing that GoPro is getting out of the drone business. Will GoPro continue to support the existing Karma drone? Will they continue to make batteries and spare parts for it? I’m still considering getting one. I just don’t want to end up like the 3DR Solo customers.

Hey! You´re not having in mind two main facts: first one, the dynamic rope takes a big amount of the impact so you can´t consider anyway that kind of "hit back"; second one, the jumper is attached to a zipline (static cable structure that is anchored to two main structures), which attachment has been previously studied by the team so that the drop is safe. Hope I could help
