excellent vids keep it up. just began my videos again getting some motivation.

The hero 4 settings button pokes out just a bit more than previous models which causes it to sometimes be automatically pressed if mounted rightside up like you have it in the video. Another common problem with mounting it right side up is that that left leg comes into frame way too easily. I've found the best option to work around this is to simply mount the gopro upside down which puts the lens directly in the center making it almost impossible for legs to come into frame and it also keeps the security button from being pressed. The only problem is that you won't be able to plug in the little video input thing.

Is that a decal on the top of the model ? I have thought about spraying the shells to make them less white ! Great informative video and wonder how mine will weigh up !

Just a small suggestion that may of already been covered. You don't have to grind anything off the gimbal housing. Just add a small piece of tape or shim to the selector side of the gopro. It will slide the hero 4 far enough away from the gimbal housing so that you won't accidentally switch modes.

I have a FlySight FPV system on my PT2 and H3-2D gimbal. I have balanced the gimbal with the proper weight offset using a nickel and velcro to the end of the motor, but I cannot get any video on my monitor. All I get is the iOSD telemetry data. I have tried several resolutions with the same result.

Anyone know if the new go pro hero 7 Black works on these older phantoms or other drones besides the karma or 3DR solo. Thinking of combining a hero 7 Black with a cheaper drone like a phantom 2 or 3 if it works

I was leaning towards the Inspire, not just because of the added features, but because the its' camera didn't have that gopro fish eye picture. I was told the new goopro 4 black got rid of the fish eye, but at the end of your presenation, when you turned the camera on, it appeared to have that fish eye look.

The Gopro would never get "rid" of the fish-eye because of how the lens is made. However, if you don't like the fish-eye effect, it is easily removed in Adobe After Effects.. And frankly after looking at videos of both the inspire and the gopro 4 black, I think the Gopro wins in terms of quality.

Could just go in to the camera menu and change it from Wide, to Medium or Narrow views.

Can you use an hero 3 black upside down? Or will this burn out the motors? The lens will then be more in the middle and lower down, so less of the legs and props will be shown in the video.. (I know i can choose horisontal and vertical radius in the program, but thats not the point)

Hello Friend Does it work with gopro 4 silver?

If you have an issue with the settings button, and can afford to have your gopro mounted full-time on the drone, just take a knife and pop the settings button out of the case. It will leave the raw under copper side of the button exposed, however you don't need to worry about the gimbal it hitting the button anymore.

Can this gimbal be installed on the P3 standard?

What about Optical Estabilization? Improved in Jello?

Does it come with that live view screen or do you have to buy it separately?

You have a Phantom 2 with the same gimbal and I have a Hero 4 black. Yours does not need balancing, but mine does! Black must be heavier? Dime is not even enough to balance mine. This is the way Atlanta Hobby sent it to me. Although my button is partially covered, it is still accessible---not really convenient, but I'd prefer not to file away any of the gimbal. Hi...Just accidentally bumped into your Channel and had to watch this video (and Subscribe!). I have the opposite issue. I just bought a P2 (because I can't afford the P3 or P4 yet) and it came with the H4-3D Gimbal for the Hero 4. Never flown one of these things before so I didn't want to stick a $500 camera on it and risk losing the drone and my H4 so I put my Hero 3 Black on it. Wasn't aware there might be an issue with the weight. I've flown it 4 times for a total of about 45 minutes with the H3B on it. Is that bad? The video is smooth but I haven't really thought to listen to the motor on the Gimbal when it's not airborne. The main reason I want to use the 3 is because I use the 4 for other things and wanted to just leave the 3 on the Phantom because it's such a pain in the neck to take it on and off. THANKS in advance for your reply.

DJI Zenmuse H3-3D is same gimbal used on Both P2 and P3 - fitting the Hero3 and Hero4 is also the same. Using other brands gimbals depends on what they were designed for - the Geocalla units also take the Hero3 & 4 cameras.

My H3-3D is off balance with my GoPro4, now I added a coin with double side mounting tape and it makes a huge noise from the gimbal motors, I put it in the air with it and it doesnt even work, it might be balanced but the gimbal keeps doing weird movements in the air like its trying to get rid of the coin, very strange, i do not recommend using the coin cause it really confuses the gimbal and burns the motors down.

I need some help folks! I'm getting a Phantom 2 with the H3-3D and I was told that there is no way i could control the movement of the gimbal through the controller, is it true? or maybe i need to get something to control the gimbal? please give me some advice about that since i saw this guy controlling his gimbal with the futaba controller, thanks in advance!

You can control the gimbal but only up and down, no side to side control. There is a small lever on the back of the standard DJI Controller that comes with the phantom that lets you control this.

TheDrumchef With the newer version the rear lever is now a wheel on the upper corner of the Tx. it auto centers and I am hoping that you use it like a jog wheel so that the cam doesnt move back to centre when you release the spring loaded wheel back to centre. You kind of want to hold a position.

How is ur gimbal weight different isn't as bad that says a lot about dji products not cool they should all be the same

Two Questions: 1) Isn't it better to change the settings on the GoPro using the GoPro app for iPhone or Android using WiFi? 2) People say you can't output video from GoPro, if you record in 4K, is this true?

Merko your second question is still talking about the gopro not the dji video link... the new gopro app shows the liveview from the camera in 4k....nowhere in your 1st or second question do you mention anything about the dji video link... get it? Make your questions clear and you will get the correct answer....

Phil Ondiss last time i checked, you can't get any video output through cable using the GoPro app. it's for WiFi only. I don't think ANY people uses GoPro Liveview through Gopros Wifi (or gopro app) on Multicopters.. I thought you knew that much. Sorry :)

Hi Terry .You have to start filming before you turn on the quad also to shoot pictures you have to set the camera to time lapse. Unless you have the Lightbridge that will give you control of the camera on your phone or even from your Remote Control

z bert Bad idea. In order to use the GoPro app, you have to turn on the GoPro wifi. This can interfere with signal coming from the transmitter causing a "flyaway". Do not do this.
