Go pro 3+ has a decent video resolution but the stability dang that's a huge difference.

THANKS FOR DOING THIS VIDEO! The main difference which is clearly evident is the stability of the newer models. I use a 3+ now to film mostly dirtbike videos but it is a pain in the arse that I have to spend so much time in post, "cleaning up" the footage and attempting to make it viewable (canceling out the vibrations and improving the color) that I'm seriously considering upgrading to at least an 8 if for no other reason than to dramatically lessen the time I spend in post. The raw video looks so clean on the 9 that you really don't even need to touch it. You could shoot a video then immediately upload it; it looks that good. Let's face it, smooth video is SO much easier on the eyes and a lot of viewers will simply skip a video that is too jittery or bumpy. I'll hold onto the 3+ for shots from a tripod but it is definitely an outdated camera when it comes to being mounted on a moving vehicle, or on a person running, on a kayak, or a dirtbike.

apart from the color science and contrast I prefer on GoPro 3+ The 9 is really better for the stab, optical flares have also disappeared and lense distorsions too... Idk if there is a thing like log on the go pro but personally it'd be a game changing argument for me to buy a GoPro

Why do you compare 1080p with 4k? Ok you're using the max resolution of the models but a comparison between the same resolution it would be more honest

I think comparing the highest resolution of two cameras is pretty honest.

The gopro hero 9 seems darker, but smoother when walking. But I think some jarring in the video adds something to the authenticity of action, there for making be feel like i’m there experiencing the action.

Hero 9 sure looks much better. But for me 3+ silver is enough as it is going to be used for my protection in case on an incedent or something. I would use hero 9 for going on tours where you want to capture the scenery

Stabilization is definitely the biggest improvement, and they have improved on things like white balance, framerates that they can shoot on, wider view, horizon lock, and some other minor stuffs. But other than that, the actual image has degraded from overly done digital sharpening that gives the actioncam look vibe. I wish they can embrace the fact that action cam footage can't get any sharper in a natural way by the physics and nature of these camera being so small and just improve on the things that they can.. Damn the over sharpening hurts my eyes so much that Gopro 3+ footage looks even cinematic to me compared to the GoPro 9 footage

Wow its way different . Colors along with frame rates. Unless you post to KZread in 4k then resolution will be at 1080p on both. Trust me its improved…..
