Explore the hidden gem of Goose Island State Park in Texas! Perfect for fishing, bayfront camping, and bird watching. Don't miss out on this scenic spot!
🏞️ Life by the Bay:
Listen to the lapping water and feel the Gulf breezes - we're on the coast! Goose Island State Park invites us to camp, fish, and enjoy birding along St. Charles and Aransas bays, just north of Corpus Christi.
🌟 Things to Do:
Get ready for a ton of fun! Camp by the bay or under oak trees, fish from shore or a 1,620-foot long pier, hike, geocache, go boating, and take awesome wildlife photos. Note: No swimming here, as the shoreline has cool stuff like concrete bulkheads, oyster shells, mud flats, and marsh grass.
⛺ Camping:
Choose from 44 bayfront campsites or 57 sites nestled under oak trees, all with water and electricity. There are restrooms with showers in every camping loop, plus 25 walk-in tent sites and a special group camp for youth groups.
🎣 Fishing:
Whether from shore, boat, or the awesome fishing pier, Goose Island has it all. There's even a boat launch and a kayak/canoe launch if you bring your own boat. And guess what? No fishing license needed to fish from shore or pier in this Texas state park.
Get ready for a coastal adventure like never before at Goose Island State Park!

That's great to know about the fishing licenses. One of the reasons we haven't fished much as we travel is that we'd have to buy a new fishing license in every state. That oak is amazing!

I use to purchase fishing licenses every year. I learned that in the parks you don’t need one 😊. We travel out of state during the summer, now we fish at the parks. The Oak tree amazing, learned that pirates use to hang out there.

It’s a nice park and we went swimming ready. Thought I mentioned the no swimming. The Big Tree was pretty cool and worth a visit when in Rockport. Thanks for watching!

I didn't realize you can't swim at this park, that's good information. I considered this a summer park so we could cool off in the water, but I'll have to try this park in the cooler months. Thanks for letting us know. I really want to check out that huge tree and the long pier.

We went ready to swim and learned no swimming on arrival 🤷‍♂️. I would recommend this park in the fall/winter. The mosquitoes were in full force. It rained the week before and water was just sitting. They had two small trails at the park, but the mosquitoes were everywhere. I sprayed twice all over and they didn’t care 😂.

Nicely done, bud. 👍 We actually have reservations here a month from now. Did you stay on the water or inland more? At Galveston, the marshy side of camping has insane mosquitos at night. 😁 I bet it's similar here.

We stood outside the park on that trip. The park is nice and well maintained. The mosquitoes will definitely get you at that park. When I exited my vehicle I had 10 on my leg, I sprayed OFF too 😂 . I would definitely recommend staying at this park in the cooler months. Thanks for watching Takacs and hope you enjoy your stay.

They had two small trails. Decided not to do them due to the mosquitoes. Water have been sitting in that area for over a week. The town Rockport is nice though. Rockport Beach and Fulton Mansion a must.

Perfect time to go, no mosquitoes. We do most of our hiking during the fall/winter seasons. Worth checking out if you visit Rockport, Texas.

Many people don't even realize Texas is full of gators and they can venture into salt water. I don't take my kids into any body of water.
