The lyrics are so sad. It’s about a river with so many wishes of joining the ocean, but eventually ends up as a dead and stagnant swamp by the hands of fate. It’s a metaphor for the people who leave their ambitions and are dead inside because of the situation they are stuck in. Very powerful and poetic.

It's a story of life these two go back 50 plus years and they were remembering the past of themselves and how life passes and your great and ambitious dreams of becoming an ocean ends up just a dream and the reality is that you have become an quicksand that will never see the ocean and the end is near. This all makes sense in Persian way of human emotions and has a deep meaning . So if you were to translate it exactly as it is the true depth of the song will never convey it's message . So for googosh was a difficult task to sing this at her age and be comfortable with its lyrics and the deep meaning of it's message. I hope I was able to explained the poem not translated.
