I'm an American woman of Irish descent. For almost 20yrs, I worked in a Persian restaurant called the Persian Grille in Lafayette Hill, Pennsylvania. I was exposed to Farsi(I learned a lot of Farsi), Persian food (AMAZING!!), Persian culture and Persian music, thus exposing me to Googoosh. I fell in love wth her. I only have a few of her albums but being introduced to the beautiful, mysterious world of Persia and all her wonders, it has enriched my life beyond words. It makes me so sad to see the tensions btwn the USA and Iran. I have met some of the most interesting, friendliest, kindest, wonderful Iranians, some who have lived in the States for years and others just visiting from Iran. I am forever grateful for this experience! Merci, Manoucher and Shookoo....Dooset daram!!

My daughter's father is from Iran. I met him in 1977 and fell in love. There were a lot of Iranian men in the town where I live and they were in the Iranian military studying here. And until 1979 when their revolution was I knew so many kind, handome and very generous people. I don't know what happened to my daughter's dad when he went back but I have the best part of him in my beautiful daughter. Maybe one day Iran will be a free country and we can be friends again.

That's a great concert, Googoosh! I saw you sing at an Assyrian wedding in 1967 when I was in Iran for 3 months on my way to Norway. I met my wife there when she was a 19 year old redhead, the most beautiful girl I had ever met in my life, and we're still married after 55 years! When the Shah of Iran left, all my Assyrian relatives left Iran, my cousins Zoya, Valya, Ralph, George, Ashur and Yul Gevargis, also Manon and her husband Albert Dooman who had the Shaheen dubbing studio in Iran and dubbed American movies in Farsi. I'm glad you're in America also, and we are all patriotic Americans here. I even joined the Republican Party and became a member of the Ronald Reagan Republican Task Force -- Vic Alexander
