We laid off 9% of our workforce and moved all those jobs to India. We then later bring these people in the country on H1B for cheap labor. This is a brilliant strategy which has caused our stock to go up more than 400% in the last year alone. All publicly traded companies should do this more often.
I work at a big tech company and can confirm they are doing most if not all the hiring in india not the US now
Google have the right to fire the employees but it has its drawbacks finding talented engineers for now it will put more money in the pocket of shareholders and investors but the company will need these skills sooner or later, boss can fire you but you keep your talent that's a double edge-sword if you join the competition. They will be welcome elsewhere!
In the end it's all about fukin money!
