You can't just break them up, this is the problem we deal with today with the Rockefellers after standard oil was broken up in the early 1900s. all they did was force them to liquidate their assets which in turn gave them the ability to invest into other companies to control on the backend.

I agree sorta kinda BUT in the early 90's they did that w/the phone and electric companies and the result, we now pay 75% more. I will never forget my first phone bill and electric bill after, my phone, from monthly $25 to $100, my electric from $50 to $180 soooo we are screwed it is ALL stacked up and loophole by these companies! I NOW pay a great deal more then that!!

The Silicon Valley of old doesn't exist anymore. Their employees are bright. But I get the impression that they are not as bright as their reputation. A lot of them seem to be spoiled privilaged children whose parents always gave them what they want. Not true for all.

There are other search engines. I use DuckDuckGo. However, that doesn't mean they don't have a monopoly. Similar to the Microsoft case, there were "other operating systems" which allowed them to exploit what (when I worked in tech) we called the Microsoft tax.

Size is not the issue regarding the rules of monopoly. Also it was actually Bell then. And AT&T which developed afterwards, was glad for the local phone company breakup, since it was their least profit and costly to maintain. Initially, it was better with the numerous local telephone company monopolies, but then that changed into the current, few with Verizon becoming so large. Now Sprint sold also. [MCI was the first to sue to gain access to interstate and international telecom lines, then Sprint]. Seems You may not be young enough or lacking significant information of that time period, and the Anti-Trust Laws. You do have access to get correct information, easily though. Sincerely

Finally! I've noticed this since I started trying to do any research. Bing sucks, and there needs to be a better Google option.

He is totally correct. They have monopoly on search (almost) and they certainly have it via KZread's video platform.

I use Bing for searches because I don't trust the results from Google. I have apps on the play store and at the end of the month, Google advertising always takes back approximately $50 of the revenue for no apparent reason. The total is only about $200 so it's about 25% they take back. There is no explanation the money is just gone. Google definitely needs some oversight.

Remove the liability protection with social media and watch them fall in line.
