snapseed is only for mobile. but as until today, even lightroom can't match snapseed on mobile (snapseed also edits all type of RAW from different manufacturer). they are both optimised for different platform. if google does release lightroom-like for PC, they will be way better. believe me. google has tried to put every product everywhere and won.

Quoutub You must be kidding me. Bring out the Pixel 2 or any other smartphone and I'll bring my 10yr old Canon 450D and it will blow away the smartphone in every scenario. So, comparing it to the great Fujifilm camera that you talked about is being ridiculous. Smartphones suck at low light photography.

Google is still a startup in smartphone when compared to samsung and apple. i also used iPhone 1st gen until iPhone 5, left after Steve Jobs no longer the ceo. Apple nowadays is a luxury company with lots of cash and they will no longer be the leader of future.

AI is the key of their devices

KTAC1 Because its a controled studio enviorment.Blads are used mostly for printing due to their huge sensor,if you tried to print an image that is larger than 5"x9" on a pixel it would look horrid.A pro camera is meant only for pro use, imagine the diference in night photography,or wildlife. Its a stupid video not only because its missleading(that Blad costs under 4k and is an old camera) but because they havent pointed out why pro cameras are used.

I totally hear your criticism that it’s the latest phone compared to an older Hasselblad, but do you think that the newer CMOS cameras would have changed any of the commentary I had about the image quality? The goal was to give photographers that currently only use their phone an idea of how their camera can and can’t compete with pro gear

oh yeah Tyler the new gen CMOS medium format sensor is a leap in term of dynamic range and high iso performances and most of these sensor from Sony are isoinvariant so you will get the most benefit in raw, i am a camera tech enthusiast and i follow these kind of things closely. reading the comments, i feel you will need to add situation when there are huge different in performance when comparing cellphone and larger sensor camera otherwise people won't have any ideas or appreciate of why pro cameras are expensive for example is when the Hassie is at its full potential. The pixel2 is already at its full potential in this video (good light, non mix whitebalance, non moving object) 1. outdoor nightshoot, cityscape for example 2. outdoor or non studio situational shoot in general, good light bad light 3. versatility of changing lenses, for example what would happened when the Hassie use better lenses. 4. Raw, the versatility of isoinvariant sensor, pull & push process comparing to cellphone raw. 5. Print

    1. it should be compared to newer version of Hasselblad because it's not longer $20k anymore, the title should be Google Pixel 2 Camera Test vs. $5k Hasselblad, the new version x1d is even at $7k... body only 2. the pixel2 can hang with medium format camera when in it's good light, in controlled environment, how will it fare in the wild? in environment you need to use iso above 800? This test only give viewer the surface, if the viewers doesn't research more it can misslead people. "What do you need $4k camera for? my phone can do almost the same hurr durr"

Was the shots taken by the Pixel 2 in JPEG and the Hasselblad in RAW? That would also make for a big difference.

What I really like about this video is how it serves as a reminder that we are carrying powerful and useful cameras in our pockets that can serve useful purposes. Our phones will never "replace" larger format cameras but, as the old saying goes, the best camera is the one you have with you and our phone cameras can serve as valuable additions to our toolbox. Great content!

Subbed, I like the last part when it shows the bokeh differentiation from a Hasselblad to a mobile phone.

I'm still suprised the portrait/digital dof software took so long to get to this point. And why the hell isn't it in digital non dslr cameras? It does seem like they need to tweak bokeh a bit, improve the abilitie to identify light sources to correctly represent them.

One thing I've noticed between my dslr and pixel is that w8th the dslr you obviously want to avoid the harsh midday sun. However with the phone camera and tiny sensor it absolutely thrives in these conditions with all the extra light it can get in. In fact if these pictures were taken outside midday I'm sure the difference would have been even smaller.

love the comparison! I was about to purchase the pixel 2 for my traveling adventures but now I feel like i should invest in a decent camera. Any recommendations? I'm taking a look at the sony rx100 v for relative ease of use and its pocketability.
