In my opinion, obtaining this certificate will probably not be a factor in getting a job in analytics. It is a worthwhile course, but employers do not seem to value it. I completed the certificate program and it was very thorough. However, you'll need a portfolio of data analysis projects to present to potential employers. The portfolio should provide demonstrative knowledge in Excel, Tableau and SQL and/or R. This course does have a capstone project that when completed, can be portfolio worthy.

The information is free but the Coursera certifies you that you have actually completed the course. YOu can add it on your CV. Consider it as a price to get the stamp of a data analytics person.

I think maybe it is to take advantage of naive immigrants who’re trying to learn new skills in their new home? To convince them to take “training” that you and I can see is worthless? That’s the only goal I can think of that would cause me to say the makers of this video succeeded. I mean, this video includes explanations of what rows and columns are. Are we to think serious aspiring data analysts are watching?
