8:05 trout do eat crawfish. My dad lost what would've been the biggest trout of his life on a crawfish imitation. He still has the lure, and has caught smaller trout and bass on it.

Man, that first trout there. That was text book trout handling. Thankyou. Sooo many bass fishers handle beautiful rainbows just like that one like a damn bass. They tear up the trout, hold it by the mouth, cover the gills. Your continued respect for the different species you catch is one of the small reasons you're the only googan mate who I follow. I've had other BPM baits kzread.infoUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 before and they've pretty much always came through for me with the suskie smallies here and even with the walleye and pike, but I realized I didn't have an "in-between" pattern so this junebug one fills that role in no problem. it pairs up magnificently with a junebug Zoom Z-craw Jr that was trimmed a couple millimeters before the hook slots and rigged sideways for that fatter panfish side profile while still being a nice'n'compact presentation, a real power-finesse bait. Hell, it was so pretty I even bothered to fotosketch the pic into a watercolor painting image just to show you it's beauty! Even the blades are really well made, sure, they're not of Hildebrandt-level exquisiteness but look at the bead's reflection on the colorado blade, definitely well-made! The only "problem" spot it had was a bald spot in the skirt but it was nothing that I couldn't easily fix with a but of tuggin'n'shiftin' with the strands for a couple of seconds, besides that it is pretty minty!

I've been trying to learn how to cast a spinning setup properly. I've done the whole "pinch the line against the blank and flip the bail" thing my whole life. Then I watched a 5 year old video by Adam Royter of Berkley Fishing ANZ about casting accuracy with a spinning rod. He shows how you should be putting your finger on the lip of the spool instead of against the blank, then you can control each loop of line that comes off as well as easily feather the line for a much more silent entry. I'm sure that man would argue that spinning rods are less accurate.

This time of year the Perch up here shoot that “milky white substance” when you catch them 🤣😂 They are either very excited or it’s a defense mechanism to fertilize any eggs around before they get eaten

That is milt and trout spawn in the spring so if you squeeze them when they are ready to spawn they will eject milt or in the case of the female, eggs. That's how they spawn them in the hatchery.

I grew up with rapala and smithwick since I was a kid now googan on that same level love all googan baits as a adult keep fishing everyone

In line spinners are my go to bait in smaller casting areas, especially with shallow water. Slow retrieve without catching bottom

Trout have the softest mouths, it’s so easy for them to spit the hook/the angler to rip it out.

The bugs you saw after un snagging the banger where scuds or freshwater shrimp, and the worm is some sort of aquatic fly larvae. It looks kind of similar to a crane fly

The white rooster tail is my go to lure for trout.

Usually when river fishing the trout like to hold close to the bottom of the river so when using a spinner of spoon u should try to let it sink before you start retrieving it.

Also I'm thinking it's possible that the white stuff from the fish could be an old male fish and the white being the sperm. Would make sense the perch over here in scotland and are bad for spraying it when you catch them during spawning

Hey 1rod I have a suggestion for trout fishing if you have not already tried it. it is called trout magnet and they work very well when I use them I catch a fish one hundred percent of the time it is even multi species so you could use it for bass, crappie, panfish, and even some smaller salmon they work great and I would love to see a video with you using one
