The Peter Collins Trophy is for Sports Racing Cars of a type that raced between 1948-1955.
What is the Peter Collins Trophy?
These beautiful machines provide the quintessential Goodwood experience, and the exact sorts of cars seen racing at the wonderful Goodwood 9 Hours of the early 1950s. Peter Collins, after whom the race is named, was a legendary British racing driver who can count the inaugural 1952 9 Hours among his many victories in grand prix and sportscar racing. Collins drove one of three Aston Martin DB3Ss entered to victory from further back than tenth on the grid through a combination of consistency, mechanical sympathy and rival attrition.
Run as a 20-minute single-driver race, the Peter Collins Trophy has always in its three runnings to date provided some of the most evocative racing and imagery at our Members’ Meetings. Its running at the 81st Members’ Meeting will be the fourth since its inaugural appearance at the 74th Members’ Meeting..

Let’s us not remise to recall the reincarnation of Old Yellar by Max and Ina Balchowski that altered the direction and design of sports racing over 60 year ago with the basic power to weight ratio accompanied with reliable Buick 401 nailhead V8 as well as US parts that were designed to withstand the rigors of Sports Racing, besting the Marques of Ferrari, Aston Martin, Porsche, Lamborghini, as well as others in historical days of wolf class Sports Racing. Today Ernie and Elaine Nagamatsu are keepers of the flame of irrefutable historic accomplishments of the Max and Ina Belchowski “OLD YELLAR LEGACY” Give them your sincere admiration for carrying forth this most under celebrated example of extreme design changes that altered the future of perception and reality in genera of world Class Sports Racing and Design for generations, including designers, builders, mechanics, and especially drivers and owners. @@dukeallen432 I am starting a KZread channel building a 1928 Morgan restomod with a supercharged opposed twin and an MG 4 speed manual gearbox connected to an MG differential and wire wheels. It is a wood over steel frame then covered with aircraft cloth and sprayed with plasticizer. I wil be taking that over to participate in these festivities hopefully next year. I may fly ever but the car will hav e to go by train..lol.....underwater train....
