Goodbye, Xiang Xiang! Japanese flock to bid celebrity panda farewell before its return to China

Xiang Xiang, a 5-year-old giant panda born in Tokyo's Ueno Zoo, will head to China on Tuesday after making her last public appearance in Japan on Sunday.
Tokyo’s panda lovers have been coming to the zoo over the weekend to bid farewell to Xiang Xiang before her departure.
Xiang Xiang has been the park’s celebrity since her birth in June 2017.
Sunday’s viewing was limited to 2,600 lucky ones who won their tickets in an extremely competitive lottery.
At present, the return flight time of Xiang Xiang has been officially finalized, and it is expected to fly to Chengdu on Tuesday afternoon.

It really moves me to see so many people there in Tokyo that have enjoyed having Xiang Xiang there. Thank you Japan for your hospitality and for taking care of her!

Xiang'Xiang is going home to find a husband. I hope she finds a good husband and have children. Then Japanese people can go to China to look at Xiang'Xiang and her children.

Xiang Xiang never flew to Japan. She was born in Japan. She was returned to China due to an agreement between China and Japan. That’s all.
