You may want to watch some Mamamoo's stages lol. Idk but they just look really fresh and happy on stage. They didnt dance much and mostly just do hand gesture (except for Gogobebe) but their vocal and stage presence really shine. Just my opinion lol

My personal theory is that the 3rd Generation is raised with different standards. 2nd Generation was raised when KZread and internet was still in its starting stages and most started without thinking that they would make it global. 3rd Gen are raised with the internet in mind. They get told to practice their expressions and more because they know people will be taking screencaps, making gifs of their expressions and performances, etc. This is why I think 2nd Gen groups look more relaxed than the 3rd Gen, not to mention that they have more experience being on stage and their fans have been there for them for longer than the 3rd Gen has.

However for EXO best era, it was actually 'Growl', i mean it was exo breakthrough single that has sold a million copies thus making them the best selling artist in 12 years, and it has won a total of 14 music show trophies. It was even said to be the best kpop song of 2013 and it is still exo best selling single to date. It still define that the full attendance of all members of exo made it their best era. However, exo is doing much better even with just 9 members! :)
