I sometimes type the name of Peralta in my youtube searching bar and hope, by any miracle, to see something new.

2023-and I still listen to this over and over---once again reminded of the genius that was Mingus and Joni Mitchell---and this interpretation by Austin Peralta and Natasha Agrama only reinforce that and display their own genius.....
His last performance, and elegy that Mingus wrote for the passing of an artist.

I cant believe he died literally hours after this performance. Although its very sad, it really shows his ability and talent as an artist. Shred In Peace!
RIP Austin, and as of a few years ago once COVID hit, RIP blue whale too. A fantastic performance in what was one of the finest jazz venues in the country.
God this kid was so talented. His dad was one of my biggest heroes as a kid and when I discovered his Jazz thru Flying Lotus I became an instant fan, unfortunately he died soon after but his legacy remains and performances like this will live on.

It’s even crazier that this song was a homage for Lester Young by Charles Mingus. Lester Young was a tenor saxophonist who died around the 1950’s or so.
RIP Austin. It was a real thrill and honor to have met and played with you. Thank you.

Natasha Agrama is divine.
Natasha Agrama, you shine there! i sing this song as well and you made me cry! (a 57 yrs old man!) kudos!
You can tell that Badbadnotgood were inspired a lot by Austin. RIP Austin Peralta, such a great talent that was taken from us way too early.
Every so often I come back to this phenomenal piano solo @ 6:49 R.I.P Austin
Incredible. This performance (by the whole band) is enough to bring me to tears. And then you find out Austin died hours after this show. So tragic. I feel so terrible for those who knew and loved him.
Rest in peace, genius
Came back to this so many years later when I heard Mac Miller give Austin an "RIP" shout on one of his"behind the song" videos just now. Reminded me of Austin's greatness, as well as the profound losses Thundercat has endured. I wish artistic genius wasn't so fragile, but thankful to have witnessed these greats sharing their crafts while they could 🙏🏾

Now… as a drummer and an Austin fan. Who is Louis Cole? Yes, that is a stupid question
One of my favorites performances, ever... I can listen it again and again. Austin was just incredibly talented guy... and Natasha is also wonderful and beautiful singer, just superb duet. Fantastic and very athmosphere performance. So sad that he passed away at the age of 22... He was like a meteor - huge flash of light and then he's gone forever... Gosh, 2012 - it was like yesterday... We miss you Austin, we remember you, we listen you. Thanks a lot for this music, buddy. R.I.P. Austin Peralta
amazing bass solo great sound!
RIP Austin Peralta, you are a legend!
I just discovered the guy... what a shame...
It's been more than a year...and I still can't get over the fact he is gone! Gone too soon!!! R.I.P Austin Peralta

He died the day after this?! Omg what a travesty.....what a brilliant keyboardist and sideman for flying lotus and others. The vocalist here is undeniably talented as well!

Breathtaking
I can't find and expletive worthy enough! What an amazing talent - how he manages to sweep me, at least, totally alone in his groove. I'm not easily swept!
This makes me happy and so sad at the same time. I can't even deal with how incredibly talented he was.
Such a great rendition of such a great tune. Rest in piano Austin.
Fabulous
Watching him work w the bass player thru that bass solo is always beautiful
holy ish that katz chilln in heaven with bill evans and george duke RIP what a shame he couldn't be present in our world anymore
Died way too young. Happy to have found this video. Brilliance.

My heart hurts after watching this. Timeless.
I literary watch this with tears in my eyes..
Exquisite!
He had some of the best chops I have ever seen (and shirts too).
Goosebumps on this one!
Soooo talented!...RIP Austin.
Fuck. Austin was literally the best. I wish I could have met the guy before he died. Thinking of all the music we'll never get to hear because of his untimely exit has depressed me almost every day since learning about his death, but at least he left us with gems like this. RIP Austin

goosebumps everytime
I love the singer. I am copying her inflections on my trombone for this song. She has a very interesting style and very improvisational. She is a good jazz musician. High praise for a jazz singer.

goosebumps unleashed...
Austin Peralta is like a Lee Morgan, an Eric Dolphy type of character. There just won't be another Austin Peralta. Damn I wish he was still here. 'The light that burned twice as bright, burned half as long'. If there's anymore footage of this show, it'd be greatly appreciated.
I love this more than anything
Great voice.
Still get a weird sad melancholy every time I listen to this damn man why
Thank you, Austin.
