He had to move on and start his new job as a lifeguard
It sure hurt when Michael took off his comlink.😢😢 I cried when I first saw this scene 38 years ago when Michael said goodbye to KITT. I still get the 'feels'... I'm sure KITT was hurting as well after Michael walked away.
That moment when Michael said goodbye to KITT, it made me cry
They don't make shows like this anymore... My 80's inner child misses this!
This is sad but emotional moment for Michael say farewell to KITT & reunite with the woman he truly loves.
I never felt the chemistry with Stevie. KITT is Michael's one and only true love.
In a way a prequel to the Knight Rider 2000. It took Reggie a lot of guts to bring Michael in.
A.I. before we really knew what was coming. This was definitely a classic
The most emotional episode of KNIGHT RIDER!!
Stunt driver still in his seat😂
That brought tears to my eyes. This show was very good memories for me.
KITT is the one and only car on the planet who actually has "feelings" God bless you KITT ❤❤
We sure do need the Knight Rider these days
Seeing Michael's eyes red in pain and crying hurt me, I'll never forget from now on.

You know I'm 44 years old right now and I used to watch the show as a kid and I never did watch the series finale and I'm usually pretty good about making sure that happens so I'm definitely going to search for the episode now.
Kitt: "I still don't understand". Michael: "Ratings are ratings my friend..."
This scene is just as good as I remember it. Hope they show the scene at the end on the beach where Michael is at a crossroads trying to decide what to do now, before jogging back to KITT with the music playing and driving off.
I like those old dark, wood paneled restaurants with the brass fixtures. Low ceilings so the only way to light the scene fast and cheap is with a few lights blasting directly at the actors creating ugly shadows on the walls. Gotta love 80s TV.
I think it's just plain cute when stevie knew how Michael feels and I miss watching knight rider to this very day because really do today and beyond 😢
