Spent many good times at the Goldstone when growing up watching the Albion play. It was where I saw the great man Pele play in an exhibition match late 50's early 60's. Never forgotten

My favourite North Stand chant of the time " My eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the king; he plays for Brighton Hove Albion and his name is John Crumplin"!

Sad to see it after the last game with the missing seats, turf and the big clock. The Doncaster game was the last time I saw the Goldstone. Obviously we're lucky to have the Amex and now European football, but its still good to remember where we came from sometimes.

I'm a Wolves fan; I attended the Fans United day v Hartlepool in 1997 with my Dad, a former Football League official (I was 12 at the time and he told me that it was important that we go, I only wish I knew how important it was at the time) Brighton and the Goldstone remain as an essential lesson to clubs and fans up and down the land as to what can happen when asset stripping owners (I refuse to give the members of your former board publicity by naming them here) are determined to harm a community asset; sadly, countless other clubs have had to endure such ordeals. Alternatively, they are a lesson in how fans can get organised and fight back. Brighton are the success story of the last 20 years, given the absolute mess they were in in 1997. I have long since fallen out of love with top flight football, the billionaire owners and affluent fans who wouldn't have touched Wolves, Brighton or indeed any other club back in the 1990s, but your story remains as a source of anger and inspiration to us all. I only hope that as many of the Brighton fans who fought to keep the club alive 25 years ago are able to enjoy the success of today, just as many fans who kept the Wolves alive in the mid-1980s are able to enjoy today.

Falmer is our new home and in time we will grow slowly - it also sets us up as a force in the modern era and is without question a wonderful arena-this however (Goldstone Ground) is our real spiritual home-where it all really happened when football really was just that-god bless her.

Few people disagreed Brighton needed a new home, but the way it all got handled was abysmal. The club should have stayed at The Goldstone Ground until the Falmers Stadium was built. Instead the board sold the ground to turn it into a retail park making "The Seagulls" effectively destitute, not knowing when they were going to get their new stadium. The supporters had every right to be furious.

The noise of people breaking seats was a horrible noise but I understand why they did it. Such a sad day.
