This is such a well-told story.

This randomly popped up on my feed and I have a friend that will be attending Columbia so I clicked! I definitely didn't expect to sit through the whole video but here I am 16 minutes later - I'm going into college this fall so this was a great perspective and I loved hearing you reflect on all these different parts of your journey. Onto new adventures :)

I was just talking to my dad about college. Columbia is the goal because it’s the best. I’ve never had a dream school and you opened my eyes. College isn’t the end goal, it’s a stepping stone. I also want to actually talk with my professors and know they care rather than a screen. My transcript is so weak. I hope I go to the place the Lord got in store for me.

As someone currently in high school on the college app grind, this hit home. I’ve spent so much time worrying about whether or not I will find that community, but this was good reassurance that I may not need it. Thank you.

so surprised i actually watched the whole thing LOL but it was very insightful to see the difference between a smaller college vs an ivy league uni, since its seen as so prestigious yet sounds pretty isolating. i think its amazing though to have the skills to be alone with yourself rather than needing to spend every moment with someone else; it definitely takes you further in the long run. thank you for sharing about your journey!

Pretty relatable experience to me! I also transferred after my first year of college (to an ivy but not columbia) and felt very isolated from everyone. College was definitely not the best years of my life but there's no regrets.

Wow. What a great video. I resonated with this so much, but I’m a high school senior who’s off to college. I still wonder whether it’s me or whether it’s others, but, I think the best I can do is keep being myself and putting myself out there and only stay around those who make me feel valued.

This is a great video. Thank you for sharing your experience, providing insight into the college life. I am a high school junior and though I have not seen much in the grand scheme of life, I do think such a community exists (from personal experience). Don’t give up on finding this community.

Don’t be! It’s a fantastic school, it simply just wasn’t for me. Most of the people who go there love it.

Good luck at Northwestern. Theoretical quantum physics is a exciting field of study. What could be a cool idea is to prove that the Earth's moon is responsible for helping the planet to generate and maintain a strong magnetic field. This could be applied to Mars by making Jupiter's moon Io a Martian satellite. The real reason why Mars is not a Earthlike planet is because it lacks a large Luna moon that would allow the planet to generate a strong magnetic field. This would prevent Mars for losing its atmosphere. The same could be applied toward Venus by speeding up its rotation axis from 243 Earth days to 24.3 Earth hours. This would help to reduce Venus CO2 clouds. Also Mercury could become Venus satellite that would help the planet t generate a strong magnetic field. Food for thought about the theory of terraforming a terestial planet.

Interesting. Idk how I got here but as a current junior in college I also struggle with aligning myself with others (me more so because of a little social anxiety) Anyways your story kept me interested all the way through. Good luck
