Eyewitness: He was driving a 2015 Ford F150 with a quarter size patch of rust on the right front fender and a small crack in the left rear brake light. He was riding on a set of Goodyear Wrangler AT 275*65*18 . His number 3 valve sounds like it was sticking and he could use some Armorall on his dash. There was a ketchup stain on the driver's side seat and a receipt for $27.54 from H-E-B in the cupholder of the center console. Other than that, we didn't get a good look at him.

Here in Houston only about 49 to 50 percent of murders get solved. And as you know over 250,000 crimes were not even investigated and hid somehow. We have a joke of a police force, that is beyond lazy and we had a mayor and still have this judge who is ok with criminals being criminals. The sympathize for them. Just this week they are going to make less beds available in Harris county jail, so that means they are going to let out, the " less serious offenders" who will eventually do something worse in their next crime. It's horrible out here. But boy go past a yellow light and you got two cop cars on you. It's a joke

Media guide to suspect descriptions: no description = blaq. vague "wyte male " descritpion = braun. Detailed high rez photo plastered on every news site every 5 minutes = wyte

This is so sad. A senseless loss of a Good man's life. God is with him. May his soul be at peace. ✨️🕯

The streets are a far more dangerous enviroment than an office or courtroom

How can they give a description of the vehicle, but not the suspect? Is this the media or the police withholding information? In the past, the police and media always provided as much descriptive information as possible if they were still looking for a suspect.

De-escalation is one of the great myths of our time. We were told de-escalation would save lives yet more police are killed than ever before, more teachers are being victimized than ever before, yet we are still told to use de-escalation.

This is the very reason why Good Samaritans hate to jump in the middle of anything.

The anger, stress and frustration of people is at a all time high, this has a lot to do with the times, we are living in, high stress due to many factors, cost of living, mental sickness, drug abuse etc. This is no excuse to murder an innocent by stander, watch your back and be careful when in public, you never know what people are going through or what they are thinking.

100%. There are other factors at play that are much more subtle and difficult to believe.

I was so sad to hear about this. I grew up in that part of town. I've been away for so many years, but it still feels like home. It's sad to hear about this happening to a good guy. Bless his family.

My heart goes out to his family 😢 I pray he is in a better place 🙏🏼 me being a former law enforcement officer I'd recommend everyone to carry for unforeseen moments like this. I rather be ready and have a fighting chance than not.

No description of the suspect? That pretty much tells you who it is and most likely its another case of a story that doesn't fit the medias narrative.

They have video cameras in each McDonalds restaurant. They should be able to examine the video and identify the suspect. To know that the killer is still on the loose doesn't speak well of the local authorities or police department.

This reminds me of the movie Stand by Me where at the end of the movie Chris would grow up to become a lawyer and his demise was met when he was trying to deescalate a fight in a restaurant.

I told myself a very long time ago - never confront irrationality! Every time I see a story like this, it reinforces my decision.

Trying to be a hero can result in zero, call the police immediately, and protect your family.
