Good morning

The good morning is a fantastic exercise for the posterior chain (glutes, hamstrings, lower back). It is a fairly advanced exercise and caution should be used as the exercise gets heavier the more you bend forward.

    That would be an RDL, it’s the same exercise basically but you don’t have the weaight on your back and it’s under you instead.

    Trick, push your elbows back and keep your hands at shoulder length or maybe a little closer. It creates a “shelf” to rest the bar on. I learned this in gymnastics😅

    Position the bar like a low bar squat instead of high bar. The emphasis will go more to your glutes and hams but still works great to strengthen your spinal erectors.

    It’s basically an RDL with the weights on your shoulder right? I’ve never done these. They look hard

    It is and gives more load the further down you go due to the biomechanics. RDLs does not increaase that much as the weight is closer to the legs

    @@akademietforpersonligtrening what about banded good mornings instead of a barbell. With the band around the neck/upper back area. Does that change the load of good mornings throughout the movement?

    @espenarntzen4759

    Жыл бұрын

    @@batman-sr2px it will change the loading as it will be easier at the bottom and harder midpoint and then again easier as the biomechanics change due to band position at top. Less resistance at bottom and more closer to the top

    Personally I find it more comfortable than an RDL. Also this is similar to a squats position so I’m comfortable in that situation as I’m good at squatting.

    This exercise looks like it could do some damage to your neck and lower back if you use the incorrect form or accidentally use too much weight, mistakenly thinking you can “handle it”. This is not an exercise I would ever personally do or recommend unless I competed and I was deficient in my lower back and glutes, or I was training someone who was competing and deficient in these areas. Too risky.
