My interpretation of this is that You can give all of yourself to fix something , or to repair someone, you can run yourself ragged and even be completely selfless but in the end nothing is owed to you they may give a simple thank you and disappear. And only when all of the hard work you do is for you do you truly become whole.

I've been in an 8 year, 4 year, and 6 month relationship. I loved all three of them, and it hurt like hell turning my back on all three of them, even when I didn't make the decision to end it, but I know my value now and I hold the door open for people who don't want to be in my life. You'll get there my friend.

Watching this music video has really resonated with me as a cancer survivor. I didn't know whether I was going to live or die since it felt like my body was falling apart at times. My life may have temporarily fallen into pieces, but I tried to pick up the pieces I could reconstruct. Similar to the clay structure constructed by the boy, I felt like I fused with the clay structure after beating cancer and recreated a slightly newer, improved version of myself after falling so far. What a beautiful piece of art. You guys should be proud.

Dang that was such a cool animation. My personal interpretation is its about how draining creative works can be, you truly put your heart and soul into it, and sometimes it feels like it just crumbles apart regardless. But in the end your creation is a part of you and the journey's worth it :)

That's a cool interpretation! For me, I felt it was about trying to change yourself because you hate you you've become, destroying yourself, only to find that the person you're making is still you. And that you deserve to be loved, not destroyed. I like your interpretation too :)

This is probably the most reasonable interpretation in my eyes, I just don't understand the whole depression or creating fake personas of yourself idea. Kid seemed pretty happy outside the fear of his imminent demise, seems he just wants to create something to continue his legacy not dissimilar to a parent raising a child. Or perhaps it is just as straightforward as a wax boy making another wax boy to continue his strange magical existence.

The way Nomu kid just finds himself again and melts with his clay version is just such an interesting concept. Feels like that was the point all along.

2:00 I can't believe I genuinely started crying. The music and the animation together just tore me apart. Giving so much of yourself away for something that they cared about, for it all to finally be given back with a love that saved them. I love the story this told so much! My personal interpretation was how destructive and self-detrimental tearing yourself apart or changing who you are for someone else can be. It feels like no matter how much of yourself you take and rip out to try and mend the friendship or relationship new cracks still form and things fall apart. It makes you feel empty, like you're falling apart and slowly slipping into a deep sea of despair with each piece of yourself you give up to try to keep them. In the end letting that toxic friendship/relationship go and accepting yourself for who you is how you heal those cracks and wounds you inflicted on yourself trying to change and tear yourself apart for that person. It's something I and most people in this world struggle with and I think this animated music video along with the lyrics paints the fact beautifully. To anyone reading this: know you are loved and cared for. You are genuinely beautiful just the way you are. Never change yourself or tear yourself apart just to keep someone else. Stay true to yourself because that's when you shine the most.

I am late to seeing this song and post but you deserve a medal or something your post made me genuinely cry a little cause it’s something so easy to hear said but not explained ever. Seeing someone with the same perspective as me really helps me see I am truly not alone with my mental issues. Thank you to you and your kind words and to all in these comments.

The desire to make something that you’ll be proud of but slowly ripping yourself apart piece by piece has happened to me a lot. The last 2 years I was tearing myself apart because I was learning to produce and write music and I was failing until I accepted that I’m not going to immediately succeed but it’s a long and drawn out process which takes time. Your music has helped me with all of that and I greatly thank you. 🙂

I fell in love with "Bubbly" and haven't stopped listening to Good Kid for days now.

I freaking love the animation. I’d honestly pay to see a full film/tv show in this art style. The song slaps as well, but that goes without saying :p

I find it as a soul trying to fix a body, sacrificing itself over and over for a perfect image.. yet in the end, both are needed to make oneself.

Spoilers for this comment Never expect a story about a wax kid trying to give a life he never had before he dies, but in the end, they fused together to give him another time to enjoy life. To me it feels like he was trying to hide his worries and problems (symbolized by the cracks on his body) and create a perfect version of himself, that can be happy, but by doing so he doesn't actually gain any real happiness and just keeps sacrificing himself. (symbolized by giving more and more of himself to the replica) In the end he realizes that he can't hold onto that facade and begins to regain the energy keeping up the facade. As a little touch at the end, he begins to heal by properly dealing with his feelings. (symbolized by the tear)

You may not realize or see its effects in the beginning, but as you give away more and more, and you realize what you’ve done, but you’re in too deep to get back out. Good Kid has been my most played artist on Spotify the last couple of weeks when i've been at my lowest, i'm so happy there are artists out there like Good Kid i'm so glad to see more amazing songs being produced much love from Sweden

Makes me nostalgic for the times in High school when I was just shooting the shit with my best friends. Ever since the pandemic, we graduated online and went our separate ways to different universities and colleges. We still keep in touch, but I miss those insane Summers where we hung out every day for weeks on end.

To anyone thinking “Gosh I wish these people got more attention” don’t worry on Spotify they have 2 Million followers, they’re getting the attention they deserve

How I interpret this song is like how you tear yourself apart to try and fix flaws about yourself and only end up hurting yourself more and how you should just accept your flaws anyways. Genuinely a beautiful song and I’m so happy I came across it.

This about to premiere in about half an hour when I'm commenting, and I can't believe Xray alpha charlie is doing another animation for Good Kid. I already know this is going to be a banger! After the premiere: This was a amazing song! A cool thing I noticed at 1:39 was the witch hat, the crown, and what I believe is the Mimi's delivery service robots in the corner, they all remind me of past Good Kid's songs.

Don't strive to make yourself perfect but instead learn to love yourself and who you are in life (which will make your flaws less pronounced and heal your wounds). That's what I got from the music video, great work from all involved!

i understood this in another way as it relates to me more the boy felt like he's not gonna reach what he desires so he worked harder and started tearing apart in the process he nearly lost himself to the idea of reaching his goal that he didnt think of himself and kept on pushing but in the end when all hope was lost all his hard work came back to reward him with that beautiful sunset.

This may or may not be seen but here's my interpretation of it; Of course, it follows Nomu attempting to recreate himself to continue 'living', or continue his legacy. Yet, being that Nomu is visibly made of clay and is easy to tear I think it represents acceptance and the breaking of a cycle. It's likely he's a recreation of himself as well, and as he starts to crack (just like clay would), he tears himself apart to rebuild a new him as the 'him''s before did. And now, instead of making the new him a replacement, he finds healing.
