I run nosler ballistic tip hunting bullets in my 6.5 cm. Always get a pass through even if it hits bone. Just bought a 28 nosler and I will be running the accubond long range 175 grain. I love the nosler ballistic tip hunting bullets in my 6 mm Arc, 243 Winchester and 6.5 cm. My 35 Rem likes Hornady leverevolution factory rounds and they performed very well. 200 grain

I have only ever retrieved one bullet from a deer. It was a 187 yard quartering away shot. 270 Winchester. I dropped the bullet in the next to last rib, it went through the vitals and left a bulge under the skin on the front shoulder. Sliced it and retrieve the bullet. It was a Winchester PowerPoint 150 grain. It retained 78% of its weight. I was pretty impressed with an old-school bullet.

I agree with everything except the copper bullets. I tried to like them but they did not perform for me at all. It was not because of speed or cartridge choice as I shot them in a 257 wby, 340wby, and 7x61. Nearly lost a nice WI buck shooting the 80 gr ttsx at 3800 fps. Shot it at a little over 300 yards with good shot placement and after hours of looking found it with a 257 dia exit and no blood. Same thing happened but I actually lost a 400 pound bear after shooting it at just 125 yards with 160 gr ttsx going really fast out of the 340. Every animal I shot with them was long track jobs with little to no blood and zero expansion even with magnums at reasonable ranges. This was not with older bullets either this was just a few years ago from 2019-2020.

I have a bunch of federal trophy bonded tip and some old school trophy bonded bear claws I also have some 7mm mag. grom rounds I want to use on tough game. I have shot elk with a power point and it anchored all I have droped the hammer on. I have also used sst and eldx with good results. I would like to point out failure in bullets is the exception and not the rule. Most often if you are a fair shot and the game is in your comfort zone a reasonable load, bullet and caliber will take all North American game and beyond. I own 50 or 60 rifles and if I could have but one, it would be .308 or 7mm-08 and I would use a 165gr. for the .308 and a 150gr. for the 7mm-08 with a bonded bullet. I know people aren't fond of them but the federal fusion bullets are actually a good choice for most shots to 300 yards with .308/7mm-08 velocities. Thanks for the video!!!

I agree with the choices and have them all. The mono bullets need speed. For example a ttsx will work great up to 300yds or a 300wm up to 500yds. Both for the most part well within most ethical hunting ranges that most people hunt.

Some I agree with and others not so much. We loaded the 110Gr Accubond in my dads .257 and it’s performance was disappointing. We found the tip folded over and tumbled in the cow elk he shot on the first shot he made. Second shot was a pencil hole through the heart. Killed the elk yes but was not impressed. In my brothers 7mm REM Mag. He started shooting the 140gr TSX then moved to the same weight in TTSX. He shot both Antelope and Elk with both. Hands down the TSX had better terminal performance. We both agree it opened up sooner and caused more disruption in the vitals. The TTSX seamed to open up after further penetration as most of the damage was in the side away from the shot where the TSX was center mass. We have had great luck with the LRX in both the 6.5-300 and 7MMSTW. I shot the 210Gr TTSX out of my .340 and it’s been ok but I liked what I saw better out of the 185gr TTSX and might switch back if I can find some.

If you’re hand loading a 30-06, would you rather use the 175 gr Barnes LRX or the 168gr TTSX? The 168 can be pushed faster, but the LRX is supposed to open easier.

I would like to see an honest conversation about the new technology DRT Terminal Shock bullet. They shoot through glass then vaporize when they hit liquid. On game they supposedly can shoot through bone, then blow up in the vitals to dust, causing massive destruction with no meat contamination. DRT told me a game changer. They dropped a bull elk at 400 yards with a 243! In Africa they drop all plains game with a 223! A big brown bear with a 300 Win. I have to wonder why this technology has been stunted? Do bullet manufactures fear DRT? Or is this a bunch of BS? Imagine being able to effectively hunt elk with a 243! They're also claimed to be super accurate! Most put them down because they vaporize, but perhaps how they work is not understood? Who has some real world hunting experience shooting these DRT bullets?
