    You complain about Denmark’s weather but all I’m gonna say as a Brit born and raised in England witnessing British weather that I’ve enjoyed 10 years I’ve lived in Denmark and I love it inside out. The winter is not the worst but the summer is definitely the best in the world. I see so many complaints about Danish winter I mean for fuck sake, without a winter there is no fun once summer begins and stays between April til September. Imagine being in a place that’s sunny 365 days a year and how boring it would get? I was in Munich during summer and it was depressing and ugly because it’s landlocked with no fresh air blowing and it got up to 40 degrees everyday. You people know nothing about weather if you complain about Denmark’s weather. Denmark is the best country along with Norway inside out.

    The answer to why the negative things ik Denmark are happening, coming from a 14 year old: 1. There is no such thing as bad weather, there is only the wrong clothes. And if you stil say bad weather exist, think about that other countries have bad weather as well. 2. The high taxes is because you don't have to pay for things like healthcare and education. Some people might have a hard time paying for school and a doctor's visit, so it is only fair that those who have the money helt other people out. 3. It is expensive to own a car, because it is better to ride a bike or take public transportation both for the climate, but also for the people in need that actually need a car, like people in wheelchairs.

    the anti car policy only works because Denmark has a high level of urbanization as well as average population density. to achieve the same connectivity with public transport in the US or Canada would be a lot more expensive. not to mention, Denmark is flat and has a mild climate so it makes cycling easier.

    @@echochamber1234 I think that type of countries should invest in trains. But yeah, that is a really good point, that even applies to some other countries as well.

  • @echochamber1234

    @echochamber1234

    9 ай бұрын

    @@m41437 The US at least is already quite well connected with trains for freight. It‘s okay for freight, because cargo doesn’t care how many stops you need or how long it takes. It just needs to get there. Humans can‘t be treated like that. I lived in the Netherlands, where the train system was good, but if I had more than two changeovers or the wait was more the 15 min or the station was more than a 5 min walk from my destination. I‘d just opt for car or bike or even walking. I‘d imagine wait times, distance between stations, etc. would be absolute shit in the US compared to that.

    bad weather is really relative thing. I live in northern germany, we have basically the same weather. So for me sometimes it is too rainy but in general it is ok(almost no freezing temperature in winter, no too hot in summer). I'd say the main problem is lack of sun, usually it's 1-2 hours a day, sometimes even 0(like today 10.06.24 - 0 sun 15 degrees celsious in the afternoon)

    Although it’s true taxes r expensive, it’s imo one of the best things abt Denmark, bcz the high taxes make it possible to have an amazing infrastructure - free healthcare, education, insurance, compensation, and overall enough money for the government to keep the roads and streets at a good quality aswell

    It's true about the weather. If I could summarize the Danish weather in one sentence, it would be "not what you expect" You can have snow on the 2nd off November, and yet only 2 days snow during the whole winter. You want hot summers? I hope you enjoy depressing rain for most of it. And you might say "oh, then just expect the weather to be bad" NO. The weather will be good then. It's a weird country, but Legos are cool I guess

    If there are high taxes so they give you all the facilities such as all the free medical treatment and when a child is born they give pocket money in the father's account till the child reaches the age 5 and many more facilities They take 40percent tax from the citizen whether he is earning too high or low it not matters but the government take 40 percent tax after that they don,t take any tax from the citizen Denmark is a place where a person can live with peace and comfort ❤❤

    The weather thing is a bit complicated to say the least. Denmark is located in the so-called "weather cross" where the weather is very different, depending on the wind direction. Rule of thumb: South: Hot and dry in the summer, cold and dry in the winter. Southwest: Cool and moist in the summer, mild and wet in the winter. West: Like Southwest, only a little warmer in the summer and a little colder in the winter. Northwest: Cool and dry in the summer, cold and dry in the winter. North: Like Northwest only colder both summer and winter. Northeast: Cold and wet in the summer, cold and snowy in the winter. East: Hot and dry in the summer, cold and snowy in the winter. Southeast: Hot and dry in the summer, cold and snowy in the winter. Since Denmark is located in the World's largest estuarium (brackish sea) and next to the Gulf Stream, the weather often changes on a daily basis. However, sometimes we get "lucky", too, like ten weeks of 30+ centigrade in both 1992 and 2018, 36 Centigrade for a day or two in 2021, and sometimes 3-6 feet of snow and -25 Centigrade for weeks (f.x. three winters in a row from 1984 to 1987). If you want to break the ice with a Dane, just start talking (well, complaining) about the weather; that's almost like a formal greeting in this neck of the World. Or a national sport. :0)
