Honestly this channel set the bar too high for the movie. I learn so much about the context of the music from the interviews on this channel. Yall should do an in depth documentary on Midnite. As a Black American I coulda told yall Hollywood will never do our greats justice. Just be happy Bob Marley wasn't played by Brad Pitt.

I like the reasoning of ‘The Dread’. You make the most sense!

A biopic is not a documentary. There is a Marley documentary by Kevin McDonald.

It was a pretty good movie, you can't expect Bob Marley's entire life story in just one movie. There will be other movies or documentary films about Bob's life in the future. His story will be told forever.

I guess it's easy to criticise when you don't have the financial means to make a movie 😳. One cannot include everything, plus the Marley family gave it's blessing and involved. It's up to us to do further research into the subject. Good discussion 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

The movie is over and I hope they don’t listen to any of the complaints!!!! My jamerican kids learned enough to get an over standing of who Bob Marley was! I myself have since watched several videos and interviews enlightening me about things I never even knew! So just stop it! There were some white folks in the theater who got the message with no problem. They even knew who the man on the horse was .

The actors did their roles well, but it missed his essence. Maybe because there was no character development? I don’t know, but they showed clips of Bob at the end and I felt more from those few clips than the whole movie.

The details of his religious convictions in a deep and explanation way is for documentaries. This is a movie. It's about the musical influence. The secular world doesn't know Bob by his convictions. I thought the mere mention of his beliefs and people involved were plenty for a Western movie in 2024.

I didn’t see the movie yet but as far as the Barrett brothers, they created and laid the foundation of reggae. Bass and drums. Fams is the standard for all of us who play bass

The story was NOT about Rastafari... it was about Bob Marley... who hug-up Rasta. Let Rastafari do their research and build up their belief structures... as usual with so many Rasta brothers they want the world to do their job... No sah! As the Dread seh... other expansive stories can follow.

I agree with Kwasi.....lets get more into the high figures, Marcus Garvey, Haille Selassie, etc. But still peace in Love, great movie and music.

I saw it twice as well. I was 15yrs when I heard of Bob passing. I was looking for a movie as soon as I learned about Bob Marley's works...I've read many books and seen many documentaries. Bob changed my personal outlook and in look. A good movie, it could've been Great and hopefully this ioens the gate for more Rasta content, Wailers content, Reggae in general !

Sir were you there during the civil war ???? Yes I was living in the northern part of the country and as a child it was very rough all over the country!!!!!!

Balance and wellness, Rasta wasn’t disrespected, but Rastafari was represented enough

I will always support my black people. It takes a lot of work and money behind the scenes that most of us dont understand. Rasta on the Big Screen 🎉😍 I loved. It was a love story not Biopic. But this opens the doors to a Bob Marley Series. Nothing can be perfect. We have to support so we can get more production. FYI I have seen it twice. I enjoyed it❤

Exactly! Let us try to move Jamaica 🇯🇲 to where we can do and attract funding internally and externally to do our OWN Biopic 🇯🇲🎶🇯🇲🌎
