    From viewing all your vlogs and paying close attention, you appear to be an excellent poker player and an even better person. JMO, but I think you're underestimating and undervaluing your talents and the application of your talent. Poker's great and I have to assume you make a reasonable living at it, but unlike many other vloggers, I think you could be doing much bigger and better things with your talent. Again, just my opinion and I only know what I see here, but it might be worth your time to think bigger. You seem like a good guy who could do great things.

    I try to do the right things on and off the felt, so I really appreciate the kind words, Steven. I split my time between poker and doing some non-profit work, both of which are fulfilling as it pertains to the "financial side of life." I also find a lot of enjoyment making the vlogs because it's an opportunity engage with others in a manner that is not typically available through just playing the game. Glad you enjoy the content!

    Congrats on the win! Hey, any win is better than a loss, and you'll have a big win soon enough. I booked my first significant win of the year *finally* after 23 sessions this year lol ($1,600 win in a 2-3-5 at Graton). I really miss the Bay 101 dailies, and especially the Shooting Star tournament. Hope they bring those back soon. I'm more of a tournament player than a cash game player anyhow.

    Your discipline with the A9 hand is something that I need to learn. I think that theoretically it is a call, but villains don't have enough bluffs to call in that spot, so your fold was correct in most live games. I need to learn how to adjust like that. Good video

    You navigated all of those coolers really well. Saved yourself lots of money by check calling and check folding instead of making "value" raises like I see so many other people do. In other words you seem to have a keen sense for knowing when you are beat, and the discipline to act accordingly.

    on the QQ vs 55 where you did not 3bet, unless your 3bet was gonna be 4x or so, you likely would have gotten stacked since the 55 was likely to continue. the tight player that kept showing you the goods saved you a TON. well played session.

    Enjoy your hand breakdowns!!! I tend to mirror your line of thinking. Can't seem to find a good answer. With unknown players, what position do you open with small pairs like 6s-2s?

  • @AndrewLokPoker

    @AndrewLokPoker

    3 жыл бұрын

    It depends on the game/players, so it's hard to give an exact answer for live games. Generally, you can get away with opening pocket pairs from most positions in 1/3 games. In 2/5 and 5/10, gotta tighten up a bit.

    It's player dependent on whether to continue or shut down the river. That said, if you're gonna go for it on the turn, you're supposed to fire that river bullet and try to rep AA/KK. Bluffing rivers is the exhilarating part of poker!

    Like the line with qq vs 55 a lot, even though it didn’t work this time! Results oriented you said not 3! cost you the hand, but I don’t think 55 is folding to any reasonably sized 3!

    99 fold the flop. QQ twice, early folds. There's an allure to big pairs on bad boards. 3-4 to a straight or flush which often hits 2 pair. Sets don't matter since you're dead anyway.
