sad …but very true …i’ll live the 90s and amazing music like this to the grave!

In 1999, at probably the lowest point in my life, this song came onto the radio just as Eklutna Lake came into view. Both hearing this song and seeing the wide vista of that glacier filled lake for the first time are inexorably intertwined. I sat in my car and just...wept. A cathartic release of every bit of grief, self-loathing, pain, and anger that I had been feeling for the past year. I sat there just a little while longer, composing myself before heading to the stony shore of that deep blue lake reflecting the surrounding mountains back to the sky.

Performance in the rain was magical.

For me it was the best performance about this wonderful song in the rain.

Guess if you're an introvert type of person, and that you are not good at making people understand you or the situation you're in, this song really hits you deep. We're always being misunderstood. *The world simply just can't understand* 💔 P.S. This is my all time favorite song.

I wonder if the song has a real meaning to it for him now. I'm a musician myself and If I were releasing hits like Slide then Iris then just fizzle out yet still being really good and writing one of the most iconic songs of the past generation. I don't know it's the feeling I got from listening to him when he got passionate. Love the band but it sucks when people just know that one.. like I also like blink 182 and everyone says yea i know them! What's your favorite song? "Well I only know all the small things". I know 40 - 50 years from now a lot more people are going to be showing their children Iris then blink 182 though. That's from a bigger blink than goo goo dolls fan, generally speaking, despite this being in my top 3 favorite songs of all time. I feel that same loneliness and Adam's song kept me alive by blink when my depression was at its worst. This one reminds me of what my heart longs for the most. It allows my heart to scream whenever it needs to and nothing can do that more than Iris.

This is one of my favourite songs ever.

This song means the world to me. I lost my dad 2 years ago, I was only 21. This song just so happens to come on whenever I need reassurance/a sign from him. It has changed my life and has saved it in more ways than one. ❤️

Ciara, bless you. It is sad that your Father is no longer here on this earth with you but I'm glad you got 21 years to learn what type of Man he was and the Love he had for you. I lost my Da, when I was three years old and me Ma just before I turned eight. I break down because I never got to know them when it counted. I can't say I miss them cos they are Strangers. I'm now a Father of 4 and a Grandfather of 3. I wish I had someone just to say "You did good Son, they are Good kids" Ciara please never forget your years with your Dad, it is THE Most valuable gift ever. I wish you Love and Happiness C.

His vocals is incomparable. Truly amazing!

Life was awful for me when this song came out. I cannot express in words how much this song - its meaning, the beauty of its melody and lyrics - helped me through that terrible time. It continues to help me now, in times good and bad. Just such a beautiful song.

it took me a few weeks to Get the title of this song. I think this is so much the #hsp life. Most people don’t have any idea what empaths experience on a daily basis. This song is beautiful, truly a masterpiece that could represent different things to different people.
